While you're at it switch the fixed spawns to random spawns, I can guarantee you that nobody wants to play fixed spawns, it's pure aids. There's nothing good you get out of fixed spawns unless you enjoy having 1v4's in chokes constantly.

Please.

if you play random spawns you get shot in the back a lot. i prefer fixed, just jump through chokes or wait for them to stop spamming. you can contribute to the dm server by not being aids and spamming chokes

I like fixed spawns a lot more on the more open maps like sunshine, reckoner, process etc. On maps like gully and gran it's definitely aids though.

I don't understand what's the big deal in getting shot in the back, it's just more aiming action and it doesn't happen that often, just look around you. In fixed spawns if the opposing team is any stronger, you just end up getting spawncamped or have to push through a choke 1v4 constantly, what could be better. Basically your problem is that you get sometimes someone spawn behind you, so you prefer having to push through constantly spammed chokes then?

It's instant spawn, while sometimes you get someone spawn behind you, you can still win the fight, if you don't, you insta spawn. In fixed spawns you always know where your enemies spawns so you literally don't want to push above the mid because you know if you go further you have to deal with 1v4, or if your whole team pushes forward they just hold the other team in choke.

For example, gullywash, if your team is any shit you just have people fuck you up in the choke, because most spawns are behind the choke, and sometimes you get a spawn on ground and still have to 1v4 because no one in your team can push through the choke without dying. With random spawns you always spawn randomly and thus don't have to end up in situations where it's like attack defence because you know no one will ever spawn behind you and stronger team rapes the weaker one in their choke.

Yeah I agree with you, but the fact that random spawns are still just fine on those open maps, but also on the aids maps. While fixed spawns make gully and gran unplayable. Which is why unless you can switch the random/fixed spawns depending on the map, you should have it just random.

 • if you're scout, someone spawning behind you doesnt really matter. if you're soldier (and you don't wanna counterjump away) you just die. remember that people can spawn under the midpoint too, and there's nothing you can do if you're 1 rocket away from death from a soldier who jumped in behind you.
 • if you're soldier or demo, dont spam chokes. just sit back and let people into mid.
 • gully is an aids map because choke, you still see choke campers on random spawns too though not as often. it's still a bad dm map because of the limited high ground
 • if you get stuck in choke 90% of the time it's because you have 2 people on your team just sitting back scared to lose elo and spamming pistol/rockets or something. tell them to jump/flank.

People in general prefer fixed. tf2pickup fixed spawns server was always more populated than the random spawns one.

It's also not realistic aiming/positioning having to predict people spawning behind u. you get punished for being in a bad position but you can't really expect someone to spawn behind you or the person you just killed to spawn in front of u with full health and ammo.

people are gonna play like fags no matter what in dm, idk why people are overanalysing it so much, just frag and get fragged it's about how well you can aim really...

FireAnd now we realize that people will always try to gain more and more elo, and that all of your points pro fixed spawns depend on having everyone on the server playing 'nice', which is not gonna happen in 90% of the games.
In random spawns, maybe 1/10 times a spawn kills you, but you can play fine the rest of the time. In fixed spawns you can't do anything yourself if the enemy team is stronger and camping chokes.
So from a realistic perspective random spawns will give you a much better time.

Your point is irrelevant because kuferl dm has no ranking system. Try again.

CollaideUr point is irrelevant because kuferl dm has no ranking system. Try again.

While I'm not Fire, there still are these people who whether there's ELO or not, will do their best to have a good K/D or something and run away from fights to pick up health instead of just trying to hit your shots. It's not an ELO thing only, many people especially worse players really tend to do their best to not die, when it's instant spawn.

CollaideIt's also not realistic aiming/positioning having to predict people spawning behind u.

Jesus, DM imo is supposed to be fast constant action where you just try to hit your shots, having instant spawn around mid isn't "realistic" getting your health and ammo back from a kill isn't "realistic". Oh it's also not realistic to take 1v4's against players that will flee after you do 60 damage to them and let their team deal with you because you can literally only 1v4, unless you're pasta god in game, expecting all their players are full-health.

Collaideyou get punished for being in a bad position but you can't really expect someone to spawn behind you or the person you just killed to spawn in front of u with full health and ammo.

Okay, so this is why you prefer to get punished for having a worse team and thus you can't get through choke points without getting fucked. I think that's the point, when you know people spawn randomly around the map, you look around you constantly, and not just at the opponent's choke, leading to your team just spamming their choke so if they wanted to actually get to fight without taking 3 rockets in their faces, they'd have to run like all the way from choke to big door in gully or some retarded shit.

EDIT: You can also hear them spawn behind you, and it anyways happens pretty rarely, and you can still win the fight, it's instant spawn, you get to spawn elsewhere and frag again anyways, while with fixed spawns you spawn you get fucked in spawn or if you're lucky you get to take 1v4 in your choke.

Thing still stands, in actual games you don't need to look around you 100% of the time, mostly you just need to look in front of your team. It becomes a chore; a useless practice when you instead could make your way over towards the enemy team, hitting well timed and aimed shots rather than 180 degree flicks.

Getting health from a kill is more realistic though. It simulates buffs in a way, though rather coarsely. (Is that correct use of the word coarsely?)

Also, nobody is forcing you to run through chokepoints into the rockets. Just wait for him to shoot his rockets and then run through, or take an alternative route. (eg. on badlands, go house and then window/balcony)

It's not like there's one solly spamming, there's 2 or 3, potentially a demo as well. That's the thing, why would I wait for all of them to spam and reload when I could just go and try to hit my shots. Again the point for me there is exactly that you get to constantly fight, DM isn't supposed to be like the actual game, and random spawns give you more action.

I prefer random spawns, I just have a look around every now and then and I'll notice if someone shoots me in the back, it's not like I carry this around and do nothing but look behind in actual games, I don't understand why you're so keen on having dm be like actual game or some shit, I think it's better when most of the time you just get straight into fight and have to aim, instead of most likely ending just stuck in fucking choke.

I agree but suddenly regenerating six shots for your Scattergun isn't realistic.

Yeah let me go around to pretty much the same area where there's gonna be 4 retards all holding train like its their life (especially in fixed spawns) and most likely get killed instantly. And even then someone will rotate from train and try to catch me out when i'm in house/valley.
Getting health from a kill is more realistic though. It simulates buffs in a way, though rather coarsely. (Is that correct use of the word coarsely?)
I agree but suddenly regenerating six shots for your Scattergun isn't realistic.
Also, nobody is forcing you to run through chokepoints into the rockets. Just wait for him to shoot his rockets and then run through, or take an alternative route. (eg. on badlands, go house and then window/balcony)
Yeah let me go around to pretty much the same area where there's gonna be 4 retards all holding train like its their life (especially in fixed spawns) and most likely get killed instantly. And even then someone will rotate from train and try to catch me out when i'm in house/valley.

PuoskariI don't understand what's the big deal in getting shot in the back, it's just more aiming action and it doesn't happen that often

It doesn't happen often because you're a scout main; the class benefitting most from spawning behind someone, and also the class who can run away from fights most effectively OR walk away from the spawnpoints the fastest. (on maps like granary, gullywash)

georgebaiiClearly you've forgotten how gimmicky sixes can be.

It becomes less gimmicky in higher divs, believe me.

georgebaiiI agree but suddenly regenerating six shots for your Scattergun isn't realistic.

Firstly, only the player who gets the finish gets the ammo. Secondly, a scout reloading between kills (though faster than usual) is still more realistic than an enemy spawning behind your back.

Ok so you think it's more fun and rewarding to get shot in the back than hitting an insane shot killing someone in a 1v4. Ok.

Wtf are you talking about it happens just as often, even if I played soldier and the times I do I prefer random spawns over fixed spawns because it is just as aids to push through a spammed choke to 1v4 as soldier as it is for scout, it's even worse, so I don't get your point.

It still makes no sense, sure scout benefits from it the most, but I hate scouts who flee from fights to run for health, but I sure hate fixed spawns more. Fixed spawns makes that actually worse because when you have to 1v4 and deal 60 dmg to a scout he just flees and let's his team deal with you.

Like whatever, if you love pushing through a spammed choke to have a 1v4 so much, go for it, but for some reason even most soldiers find it really frustrating and aids & prefer random spawns, while sometimes someone spawns behind them, they just insta spawn somewhere randomly and can fight again without having to 1v4 every time.
Even if I was to ever play soldier and when I do I still prefer random spawns because fixed are still super aids for soldier as well. I guess you're the one in the team that rapes the other team's choke so you enjoy it a lot.

saamPuoskariWhile you're at it switch the fixed spawns to random spawns, I can guarantee you that nobody wants to play fixed spawns, it's pure aids. There's nothing good you get out of fixed spawns unless you enjoy having 1v4's in chokes constantly.

Please.

I like fixed spawns a lot more on the more open maps like sunshine, reckoner, process etc. On maps like gully and gran it's definitely aids though.

the kuferl servers do not have sunshine in the map pool (because its EU map pool i guess) so theres another reason to have random spawns. i still prefer random spawns on process and definitely on reckoner though

You cant say that fixed spawn has no benfits. If you think about it, in some way it is simulating the mid team fights you have, where you fight as a team. Here you are practicing focus fire, scouts are letting sollies jump first and then they commit on distracted people, people back out on their side when they are low so teammates can help them. It makes you use your brain. That is the theory tho. But in reality, the big disadvantages are as puo said that the team, that wins the fight can easily camp the chokes, which literally makes the game aids for the camped team. Also if you have bad teammates, you will lose the fights over and over again, you will find yourself in situations where you are facing 4 people alone almost all the time, because your teammates are going in alone and dying one by one. But why should we blame them ? its fuckin dm server and they want to frag. Fixed spawns would be great in mge style, where the round resets after everyone dies from one team, and where the teams would actually be a bit balanced. But you cant do that on dm servers with random people with random skill, its just impossible. As much as I would like the idea of fixed spawns, where I could practice my brain not only my aim, its literally impossible and the disavantages are far greater than advantages.

So yeah, bring back the random spawns my dudes.
Also, if you bring back random spawns dont bother with ranking, its so useless man. That might be the reason why people dont want random spawns, because it will be impossible to progress in ranking even when you are really good, and people will just rage because they lose points to guy spawning behind them.( thats me btw, I am addicted to dm ranking and it would be for the best to remove that shit).

Ok thats all from me, cya on dm servers boys!

Puoskari*regurgitating the same points over again*

People don't spam chokes as much as you imply, and even when the servers are filled with tryhards most ppl don't play like total assfucks spamminig chokes.

Also people don't flee if there's no elo/point scoring, I already covered this. And 1v4's are actually really rare. And most of the times where it happens, you need to LOOK WHERE UR TEAMMATES ARE and attack at the same time they attack, and you'll break the "hold" eventually, due to enemies spawning on their side.

What's more cancerous is in a 1v4 situation with random spawns because then you can't sync up with your teammates.

georgebaiiI like how you're trying to make points about realistic situations when you're literally saying surprise flanks from behind are less realistic than having to pasta brain 1v4's with next to no buff which is so retarded.

Aiming at enemies in front of u is always more realistic than behind u.
