It's crazy, I was just talking to someone earlier today about how dangerous our world is, and this comes up hours later.

Prayers to all the dead/missing, and their families. Stay safe to the rest of them. :(

ForefatherVanaWhat an awful tragedy, my thoughts go out to the victims families.

Also please ignore Forefather were not all bogans here down under.
I'm a bogan because I realize this could have been prevented by not allowing dangerous people into ones homeland

nice

I can think of very few people in Australia - immigrants or not - who are as dangerous as someone as shockingly racist and ignorant as you.

Could you be so kind as to leave?

Terribly sad. I'm pretty sure I walked by Le Petit Cambodge a few years ago as a tourist. Not sure what else to say really, this is just tragic. :(

This was orchestrated to inflict the maximum amount of damage in the worst possible time.

There really is no winning way out of this. Everyone loses. France loses more than a hundred of its citizens whose lifes were taken away in a revolting way, Fear invades the capital and the nation, which will leave long lasting consequences in internal and foreign policies. Hatred for muslins becomes more prevalent.
The current refugee situation in Europe might suffer heavily from this. Europeans everywhere are getting more and more fed up, and this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back

Might cause further military action against ISIS if it's confirmed to be true, which in the end will create hundreds or thousands more deaths and thus the cycle of hatred and violence continues.

Europe is currently in the middle of a complete shitfest. I have no words.

I have complete disgust for individuals who committed these awful atrocities and for any kind of beliefs that promote such vile actions.

This is seriously fucked up but I think some people need to understand this:
no matter what the media doesn't care if what they report is true or false, they get paid, this is a business. It sounds horrible and inhumane but in reality if you were getting paid fairly well and I'm almost certain you would do the same (not saying you would) and the media literally FEEDS off this kind of shit.

There are different types of dangerous. I doubt that you are specifically doing anything violent and the like.

But racist attitudes - especially when one applies judgements on an entire group based on the actions of extremists - is just as dangerous as terrorism. That shit's toxic, man. It doesn't do any good- all it does is open up more people to be inculcated with extremist views and push people towards violence.

Saying "fucking muzzies" isn't the way out of this shit. Hell, I don't even know what specifically IS the way out of it. But I know that meeting hatred with hatred isn't the answer.

Anders Behring Breivik (not a group but still) because he hated islam is a good example of the shitty retaliation that happens.

The OKC bombing.

IRA.

The Waco Siege.

FARC.

Also, to anyone that decides to blame the US for this due to wars of the 90's, remember that the original destabilization of the region occurred due to European colonialism (mostly by the British and French), which was exacerbated by the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the US's war's in the region.

Uh. Didn't the IRA do a whole bunch of this shit in the 90s?

The Troubles were largely dying down in the 90s, the ceasefire began in 98 I believe. If you're looking for terrorism and violence in Northern Ireland, you'd want to look at the Border Campaign in the late 50s, the split between the Provos and the OIRA in the late 60s, and the Long War in the 80s. There've been small spikes of Republican activity since then (early 2010s) but not nearly as much as the early campaigns. I don't know as much about Unionist violence but I'd not be shocked if it occurred during generally the same times.

But yes, your point about non-Muslim groups in Ireland committing acts of terror and violence is right. Just on a slightly different timeline.

Thanks for the clarification; the Troubles aren't my area of expertise.

Didn't bring a country into a state of emergency. Didn't force all women into lower class citizens in Saudi Arabia. Sorry kid, the religion is extremely toxic, plain and simple.

I think you must be forgetting that most regions tend to be restrictive and toxic to its followers, with the exclusion of a few.
