welcome to teamfortress.tv

half of the community is shit
half of the community is kinda bad
10% of the community is good

i failed math

and for console commands, viewmodel_fov 85 or 90 (it would go into console like viewmodel_fov 90 ). that basically makes weapons farther away when you're in first person. you can see more with it.

Again this is totally preferencial,it wont certainly benefit him changing his weapon pov.

Viewmodels are the weapons and hands that you see. If you turn them off, you can see more, but you might find it hard to know what weapon you're on at first. If you're fine with them there, then it's not a big deal. Some people just think they block too much when you are reloading.

turning on fov_desired 90 will give you a setting to where you can see more of the map than with the default fov, it doesnt change your weapon fov but it sure does help a lot, it looks different at first but you will get used to it

Yeah, if you dont have anything in your autoexec (aka where your binds go) it should stay like that, if you do have things in there, just put it in there

Hi there, and welcome to TF2! It's always great to see a new face.

Few tidbits of random information, in case you have not noticed.

*Typical spawns for health and ammo kits are 10 seconds. Keep track of these, and the locations they are on the map to have a good run and continue your reign of terror on the enemy team

*There are 3 types of ammo and health kits - for ammo: small (very small grey box) 20%, medium (yellow/medium size) 50%, large (big cube has rockets coming out of it and other stuff) 100%. Other things that give you ammo include destroyed buildings - 50%, toolboxes from engineers - 100%, weapons from dead players - 50%. You can also use an engineers dispenser to get health and ammo at an increasing rate depending on its level.
Health: small "pill" medicine bottle thing - 1/5 of your hp (thereabouts), medium size kit (50%), big/full kit (100%, size of a big first aid kit/toolbox size)
The cart in payload also gives you health and ammo, much like a dispenser.

*As the defending team you have a bigger spawn time. On a map like cp_dustbowl average respawn timer for the defender is 20 seconds, the attacking team I believe is <=6?

*When in a fight against a soldier or demoman, try and save your doublejump for when you are in the air, so you can change your movement pattern and "juke" them last second to make them waste ammo. Punish them for this with a quick shot in the face!

*Movement is a very important aspect in TF2. Try and learn all the neat jumps/trickjumps around maps as scout to get you around/behind the other team quickly and efficiently. Good movement will also make you harder to hit - employ more strafing in your fights. Don't also be afraid to "strafe aim" - many people strafe to help them aim (I do as scout because my sensitivity is freakin high :/)

*At the start of a game, depending on the map, help your engineer out on the team and upgrade his buildings. The more building his building, the merrier, and the upgrade stays even when you change to another class.

*This goes without saying, but don't really try and just running full ball into the other team, especially if there are a lot of them around.

*If you walk past a medic, don't be afraid to call for medic once or twice for a quick "buff", which takes you to 150% of your normal health (so a scout would go from 125-185), giving you a better chance in any fights you have in the near future. Do note it decays at a decent rate. Try and make sure you are on full health to do this, though, as the medic will probably want to heal other people.

*Sometimes scout is not the best option in a pub game. Even if you want to improve your game, don't be afraid to try out the other classes! This especially helps even if you want to get good at a particular class, so you can learn their strengths and weaknesses, and can fully realize the potential you can push the class you want to play. Having at least one medic on the team is always useful, too.

Good luck, and welcome again!

Speaking of competitive, 6s isn't the only format for it. There's also this thing called highlander, there's 1of every class per team and plays a couple different maps than 6s (though some do overlap such as viaduct) if you think you'd be interested in that you could join a highlander lobby at rc.tf2center.com and if at any point you would wanna join a team go to ugcleague.com and post in the lft forum for Iron.

I kinda skipped through the video, but one thing I noticed was that you keep valiantly defending the point after it's capped, which is admirable indeed, but often I wouldn't do it by actually standing on it.
The thing that makes it tough to capture a point is that you're a massive target if you're physically standing on it, and will eat a lot of spam etc. If you own a point and need to defend it, instead of continually standing on it, I'd get into a position where I could easily kill people who want to just cap the point without first making sure they get the frags necessary for it (and by doing so making sure that I'd eat a lot less spam in the process).

yuki my sensitivity is freakin high :/

Don't you have like 20 inches per 360? Not that high...

Also I've been playing for six months and I didn't know that an engi's toolbox maxed your ammo, thanks lol
