I can't help with specifics but if I wanted to study it in depth, I would download any STVs with enigma in it and just watch his POV. He's really well known for his scout movement.

vs soldiers
At long range actually look at their rocket and focus on not getting hit by it. Playing directs and focusing on movement has helped me recognize rocket direction better.

At mid range focus on trying to predict where they will shoot and going somewhere else. At these ranges you don't really have time to get fully out of a well aimed rocket's splash once it's been shot, so try to be one step ahead.

At close range just try to be difficult to hit. Jump on random shit. Jump on his head. Air strafe around.

In all cases positioning is important. Even the best movement won't save you if you're sitting in a box.

scout 1v1 is silly. Click on them more than they click on you.

Jump like theres no tomorrow.
On a serious note: Try to learn with scouts that are known for having good movement(like mana said Enigma is a great example) and then try to apply in game with pugs and scrims.

(this is assuming it's sort of a 1v1 situation) Count your enemy's ammo when you're playing against projectile classes. Shotgun soldiers are just a scout 1v1 where it's really easy to hit them, and unloaded gunboats soldiers give you a lot of time between shots to aim carefully and hit them hard. Demos switch between stickies and pipes, pipes are basically a crapshoot at close range where you try to be hard to predict, and stickies involve watching where he's aiming and trying to stay out of the zone he's creating.

On scout v scout, just get a buff and/or a teammate, never stop the wiggles, and put your MGE/DM to work.

I have never gotten anything from MGE. Scout v scout in MGE is kind of similar to scout v scout in game but it honestly depends on who you're playing with. Scout v soldier in MGE almost never happens for me in game because it's so situational that you'll almost never be in the same predicament when playing the game.

can u just go play the game a lot and see what works for you

i see so many scouts try and emulate how top tier guys play and it doesnt work because youre not the same person with the same skillset

you have a brand new steam account and a tf2 sniper avatar

go play dm while holding w and spacebar until your eyes bleed

see you in 6 months

As a Scout, jump while in mid-air to change direction, and avoid enemy fire.
