Some updates related to map uploading:

  • The list of available maps is now shared between all regions.
  • A map uploaded in one region is instantly available on all servers in all regions
  • Servers will download a map if it's missing (thanks to Icewind's mapdownloader plugin) which can now download maps reliably over https thanks to steph's work on this sourcemod extension
  • The fast download for the servers is globally cached and available for anyone to use on their own server.

If you want to use the serveme.tf fast download for your personal server, you can now use this in your own server.cfg:

sv_downloadurl "https://fastdl.serveme.tf"

Heads up for those people using Malwarebytes. It falsely blocks most or all of the NA server IPs. Here are a couple of possible fixes:

  • Uninstall it, just use Windows Defender
  • Add a "web exclusion" in Malwarebytes for the serveme server's IP you're trying to connect to
  • Use the SDR IP / connect string to connect the server

Thanks to Ben at OneQode, there are now 8 more servers, split between sea.serveme.tf and au.serveme.tf. These are located on Guam, providing the fairest possible ping for the SEA region, Japan, Korea, Australia. Even providing a playable ping to west coast USA players.

The 64 bit TF2 update broke servers in a few ways. We've tried switching all our servers to 64-bit, but there are quite a few missing 64-bit extensions for competitive play at the moment.

So we're sticking with 32-bit servers for now, you can just connect with your 64-bit client to those. Almost everything seems to work, apart from automatic whitelist updating/downloading.
