Fighting Games on Steam

It seems a lot of competitive TF2 players like to play other games like chess, Warsow, League, and DOTA. There has been a recent influx of fighting games on Steam, with the release of KOF13, Skullgirls, and Divekick. Melee netplay via Dolphin emulation is coming in the near future, and the new SF4 revision is getting a Steam release next year alongside the console release. I'm curious if any of you like to play these games or are interested.

(I know online play is vastly inferior to offline play, but if you guys don't live in my city and have the ability to play online, I would love to play!)

Melee is the only real fighting game I play. Divekick is a hobby here and there.

I have been playing a LOT of Street Fighter 4 lately, it has become one of my favorite games ever. I am thinking of buying KOF just to support fighting games on steam but that games looks way too hard for me, maybe if another noobie wants to play I will get it.

SF4 is on sale right now on steam btw, 75% off! today only, I recommend it highly

edit:
and I can't wait for the new smash

Skullgirls is okay, but I've kind of come to realize that I'll always prefer watching fighting games to playing them.

By what I understand KOF is really cancel-happy, think Marvel but with SF-sized combos. Sounds like my kind of game honestly, I've been meaning to get it. Add me?

I've been playing quite a bit of Street Fighter lately myself, but I'm still really bad. Taught myself bare basics using Guile, fundamentals on Ryu and I'm really liking Dee Jay a lot, but there's no one I know who plays it I need partners

i have both Skullgirls and KOF, but i have really preferred the latter. the mobility options and viability of pretty much every character in KOF makes me pretty happy.

If any euros play SF4, I'd be up for games. I'm pretty bad though. I do have SG aswell, but barely even played it. Oh right, I also have SFxT but its pretty bad.

downpourSkullgirls is okay, but I've kind of come to realize that I'll always prefer watching fighting games to playing them.

I understand many people are like this, and it's fine. I love watching Skullgirls because the anime girls are so sexy.

It's weird how much I love smash(mainly melee but project m is good too) considering I really don't like your typical fighting games. I gave street fighter/mahvel/PA4 a try, but I'm not a fan. I think the two big things that annoy me about fighting games is that each character has a list of his own complicated unique moves which I don't really want to have to learn(melee has several unique moves that vary between characters, but they're all performed the same way), and also I'm not a big fan of how 2-dimensional fighting games feel(Melee is also has 2 planes of movement, however it's less distracting considering the stage is a lot bigger and there are different platforms and stuff).

Also any game that has wavedashing has to be good

Paging Dr. TheFragile.

But seriously, I play SF4 occasionally. Lots of fun, though I'm awful at it. I also like playing Ibuki, who's apparently bad or something.

I play SSF4, SFxT, Skullgirls, and Divekick. I'm also terrible at every single one of them.

I respect this. I happen to like P4A but no one else does.

Cool man! Lots of pretty cool anime characters in Blazblue. Can't wait for 100% damage Hakumen overdrives and Valk overhead strings.

I like P4A, but my xbox got the RROD. I also have ss4ae on steam if anyone wants to play. (hoping they update to get rid of gfwl.) I main akuma, but have dabbled in a few others (dhalsim, seth, ken, goken). I am terrible at using charge characters, my mind cant figure out the imputs for some reason.

Also RIGHT NOW SSFAE is only $7.50

If I can find people I wanna do an 'endless lobby' tonight with tf2 people. After scrims of course.

I love P4A because I play a majestic charge-move queen with brainless damage.

i wish i didn't live in the middle of the ocean so i could play more online

almost everyone i play with locally have 'online-only' teams because the gameplay online is so much more different when playing people with 5-18 frames of input lag per button press

I've always been more into KoF than street fighter personally, but I'm not that great at either. Leona and shermie are the best. And as far as street fighter goes, makoto is my favorite.

If anyone wants to play (preferably SSFIV but my Skullgirls is decent), add me on Steam, I need practice. I'm not great, either, but I'm alright with getting wrecked too, so hit me up I want to be good

SF4 is only 7.50 USD! It's a very fun and reasonably fair game.
