TF2 Balance

So recently it's been really irritating me how some classes in this game are almost straight up better than others, and how skewed the whole balance of the game is. It's pretty cluttered and the great rebalance update helped with some of it but broke some other stuff. Most game modes are broken in your average 12v12 pub and even with weapon bans and class restrictions (like in hl and 6s) we can only go so far in rectifying this. I'd like to have a broad discussion concerning whether TF2 is really in need of a rebalance, or if things are better staying as they are (ie medic, demo, heavy being the most powerful classes, pyro being less useful among other issues). Another option could be refining a "pro-mod" such as TFTrue and working with that more than TF2 in its current state.

tl;dr is tf2 broken, does it need fixing

every class has its own playstyle and advantages. just because scout doesn't have 200 health and projectiles doesn't mean its weak or unbalanced.

what are you even saying. getting frustrated in a pub because one team has good players that are playing "power classes" doesn't justify the creation of a new thread.

not saying tf2 is perfect, but making a difference in classes and the recreation of the 9 classes would be totally unnecessary and probably ruin parts if not the entire game.

Every class has a purpose to fill, making all of those classes viable all the time means that there won't really be any strategy.

Pyro's purpose is defense,
Heavy's is as well,
Spy and Sniper for key picks,
Engineer for defense.

Only class I could see that should be removed/reworked into a different idea all together is pyro.

Each class has it's advantages and weaknesses i'd say. That's why the game is very situational and strategic. If any class is over powered though it's probably the scout. At least the best players have been able to abuse the strengths of that class more than the others imo.

Banny has really taken demo to a whole new level, I think Platinum came close to that level as far as intelligent game changers go. They're just so smart and understand how to put out damage where it's needed to continue giving your team a better dm situation health wise. Also with their play calling.

Blink, scout is a really weird way to spell demo.

the whole bases of the 9 classes is that some are counters to the other. valve didn't intentionally try to balance each class when they are in situations with one another.
ie. scout counters pyro, pyro counters spy, spy counters heavy, respectively.

While scout does counter pyro, I still hate bleeding 60 damage from a flame that seems 200 feet away

one of the reasons the flame stream inherits so much momentum is to make up for input prediction sucking

I'm not saying competitive TF2 is broken let's fix it

I'm asking if you think competitive TF2 is broken and whether it needs fixing.
I've seen a lot of complaint about pyro, demo etc. so I thought maybe this thread might be appropriate.

If your answer is no, just say so and don't flame and -frag.
