rezgarGPU heavy games like world of warships and world of tanks.

Sorry, I laughed out loud at that one.
You can get >100 fps on max settings with a 150$ GPU in those.

WoT is also one of the few games with worse multithreading than TF2. Because it doesn't have any. At all.

Assuming you're talking about the new Star Wars Battlefront, that and Overwatch are actually not too demanding either. It's not easy but with e.g. a GTX 1080 getting >120 fps actually isn't a problem on 1080p even with maxed out settings.

Anyway, Swedish prices would be a bit too much work for now, but something along these lines is the goal:

Worst case you get a 1070, which should still be more than enough.

#29 Is it possible/worth it to upgrade my PC? in Hardware

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEASONIC-550W-ATX12V-V2-03-EPS12V-V2-91-ACTIVE-PFC-F3-PSU-POWER-SUPPLY-SS-550HT-/391384022093?hash=item5b204e3c4d:g:MssAAOSw0UdXripI

Same seller, 550W version.
Doesn't seem like you're really trying.
Unless of course a SS-550HT for 22$ is suddenly a much worse deal than a SS-650HT for 35$.

There's also Delta OEM units at similar prices which I'd argue are better.

Yeah, but other coolers can be on sale too.

Depends a bit on which PSUs they are and what I mean is that if you can get the 400W version for less there's no reason not to.

#22 net settings that matter in Customization

Didn't you read #16? Your server is shit and you can go fuck yourself.

Snowshoeif you have shit ping or shit speeds then look elsewhere because high updaterate and low interp has been the standard here for more than half a decade.

#9 net settings that matter in Customization

To "disable" it you'd set it to 0, 1 is bad style.
Also sv_maxupdaterate is a thing. So if you want 20 ms no matter what ratio 0, interp 0.02 is the way to go, if you want about 1.3 packets then ratio 1.3 and interp 0 is what you should be using.

If there were perfect net settings there'd be no need to be able to change them.

Keep in mind that especially in America not everyone will have 22 ms ping. With >=5 ms jitter, which is not unlikely with higher ping your whole concept goes down the drain.

Because it uses the higher value.
cl_interp_ratio 1 is useless in this context.

212 Evo. Why.
650W PSU for a 400W build. Why.

You don't know what you're doing.

cl_interp 0.02
cl_interp_ratio 1

Either 15.2 ms or 20 ms, you can't have both.

That would be a great upgrade if he had a motherboard that allowed overclocking.
He doesn't.

Yes, TF2 is a different story.
Though I'm not sure which "graphic heavy sci fi games" you mean exactly.

Yeah, obviously shouldn't be a problem on medium, just maxed out it's a bit difficult.

I'd say this one

Well it depends whether you get more than 120 fps or less, which mostly depends on how high you turn the settings up.
Generally for fast paced games Lightboost, for slower games or if you want it to look as pretty as possible without stuttering G-/FreeSync.

I'll try to post a preliminary partlist this weekend.

Did I miss something? There's a 4K 144 Hz BenQ?

They are not settings, they are features.
It depends on what's most important to you.
Basically:
- IPS = better colours, but more expensive. Preferred for photo/video editing or simply watching movies.
- Lightboost/ULMB/Strobing = lower motion blur, basically going from 120 Hz to 120 Hz with strobing looks like going from 60 Hz to 120 Hz. Good for fast fps games, but only if you can actually get >120 fps reliably (same as normal 120/144 Hz).
- G-Sync/FreeSync = Syncs fps and refresh rate so you don't get the horrible stuttering, screen tearing and other problems you'd get if your fps drop below the refresh rate. Great if expect to not be able to get 120/144 fps at all times.

While some monitors offer both Strobing and G-/FreeSync you can't use them at the same time. Well the XL2730Z can but it's 500$, 27", 1440p so not exactly what you wanted.

About the i7: It really won't do anything unless you're going to stream, keep that in mind. And because you'll have to get a cheaper GPU you'll probably get lower fps with it.

Same as always, I can make a rough sketch now, but I'd rather wait for the actual prices in the week that you'll actually be buying it.

#1713
That's still a long way off. There's not much point in doing a partlist 2 months in advance, especially if you're trying to take advantage of deals that I can't know about yet. I'd have to change most of the partlist again.

Post here again a week or so before Cyber Monday at earliest, then I should be able to do a much better job than I would be to now.

And fuck the VG248QE, I have so many rants on that topic.

What are you looking for?
Size?
Resolution?
IPS yes/no?
G-Sync/FreeSync yes/no?
Lightboost/Strobing yes/no?

#15
The proper phrasing would be "thank mr setsul".

#16
Yeah, for fps I'd say strobing > all, but that's not everyone's main focus, some people want to play games that look pretty, some people don't like Lightboost, but those are weird, some are content with just 144Hz and nothing extra.

But yes, there is a reason why the XL2411Z is recommended so much on a forum dedicated to an fps.

#17
Usually 250-300$ and monitors only get cheaper as time goes on, so it's really not a "once in a lifetime" deal. No need to rush anything. Maybe it'll be on massdrop again.
