#1805 PC Build Thread in Hardware

I'm not sure which part of "does the same" poses a problem to you.

The RX 460 is significantly faster than the 750 Ti.

#1805
I can understand the cases and PSU then.

Stream on a second monitor should actually be getting decoded by the GPU, not the CPU. Current GPU?

What's the 2500K running at? I still have to check which games would even benefit from Hyperthreading. The problem is that 6700K benefits more from it so those nice +50% you get in Cinebench on stock clocks won't really happen. 10-15% is more like it (+20% IPC but lower clocks).

What about PSU and case? Any reason you don't want to keep them?

Also for games you're really not seeing much of an improvement. With the average overclock on Sandy Bridge being higher you could even get 90-95% of the multithreaded performance with an i7-2700K. So if you see people selling their old 2600/2700Ks (3770K too if you're into delidding) because of Cyber Monday that could get you almost the same performance for a fraction of the price. That's what I'd get if it was just about upgrading.

Just how much of an improvement are you looking for?

Yes, wait.

Current specs? Not really an upgrade if only the SSD and a GPU are left.

Overclocking I guess?

Is anything overheating now? Or do you just have no GPU at all (or a very low power one) right now so you're concerned the new GPU might overheat?

How do you compensate a better GPU with cooling? What are you trying to compensate for?

GVR/raptr/plays.tv does the same. Any reason why it needs to be Shadowplay specifically?

#1794
But if you're keeping your CPU you should obviously keep the mobo.
And the RAM.
And if you're keeping PSU and mobo why not keep the case as well?

Basically you want a new GPU and that's it.
And honestly, there's nothing else that needs upgrading.

#6 SSD won't show up in BIOS in Q/A Help

Well the problem is if it doesn't even show up unless the cable is dead something has to be terribly wrong with either the SSD or the mobo.
Can't hurt to try in another pc, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

It's dead, Jim.

As long as you don't do anything on the second monitor that the integrated GPU can't handle it should be fine.
So watching a stream on the second monitor is no problem at all, but gaming is not recommended.

I'm not exactly in a hurry, it's your build.

Please just put the part list in the newest post so I don't have to scroll up. I'm lazy.

Anyway you can get newer, faster parts for the same price.

If you want to use up the whole budget either get an SSD
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/HrvL7h

or get an even better GPU (460 is already twice as fast as the 750 Ti)

#15 Selling HDDs in Hardware

Yes, but don't forget about shipping, conversion rates and most likely taxes.
Right now 55€ ~ 82 CAD. I'll have to check what shipping costs and if and what taxes apply.

EDIT: Cheapest I've found so far is DHL for 16€ which would put the total above the price for a new one in Canada.

Due to poor brits being poor for the foreseeable future and Kaneco to busy to actually tackle big projects that would require a new HDD one 2TB and one 4TB are available again.

Lightboost maxes out at 120Hz so yes, I'd say it's worth sacrificing 24Hz for that.
Anyway your best option for that would be the BenQ XL2411Z.

#979 Donald Trump in World Events

An organisation that runs a ton of black ops doing dark stuff? That is completely unexpected.

I mean there's 3 rules:
1. If you're an intelligence service no one should know about anything you don't want them to know.
2. It's not illegal if no one one knows it happened.
3. As long as no one can prove you did it you can still get away with it.

Anyway, since no one made that joke yet I'll have to do it.
With Oleg Popov dead Trump is now the greatest clown on the planet.

What about the rest though?

SetsulWhat do you want though? 120/144Hz I guess, but what about size, resolution, panel type* and G-/FreeSync?

Also strobing/Lightboost.
