Now that's really weird, because it didn't when I benchmarked it. Well it did but it was an irrelevant portion that ran on >2 cores. Might be the config. Either way this shouldn't happen.

1600 will do less or similar fps in tf2 really (my max is ~197 fps @3.8GHz in benchmark1), cuz source loves high clocks due to its age. Ryzen also tends have "smoother feeling" in games, the frame times are much more stable and it won't jitter as much as Intel. I'd suggest to upgrade ^^

My first impression on Linux was... that the game runs noticably smoother. I needed some slightly more... quantified evidence for that - and here it is.
Just check this out. Hardware ofc stays the same - Intel Core i5-3350P @ 3.5 GHz, 8GB DDR3 1333MHz, Radeon RX 480 4GB.

The game can still freeze randomly. Rare, but happens. I'll be playing TF2 for quite a bit on Linux, so if I notice anything interesting, I can report here.
