#9 Issue with demos viewmodel in Q/A Help
KanecoI went to record these bugged demos again (with not viewmodel) but by chance these viewmodel issues are fixed, can anyone try with a bugged demo they had and confirm to me?

probably was just a bug in the game itself, valve breaks shit all the time. it's probably just been fixed by a patch.

#18 game fps lag in Q/A Help

@radeon, most throttle from 85C-95C and completely shut off from 100C-110C, although some chips can hit 120C

#3 FPS probs on a good computer in Q/A Help

Source, especially in multiplayer environments, is a very CPU-heavy game that isn't multithreaded much at all.

Essentially, finding the processor that has the best performance per single thread, and clocking it as high as possible, will give you the best results for TF2.

#3 How do i edit class.cfg files in Q/A Help
  1. so few of those can actually be changed while connected to a server
  2. yes, copy and paste to each class config
  3. difference: nothing in regards to tf2, configs are just scripts in source

#4 How do i backup my tf2 in Customization

be sure that you're copying over tf/cfg/config.cfg and that it isn't being overwritten with steam cloud sync - config.cfg contains all current tweaks from the default, and without your old config.cfg it won't cancel out the tested autoexec

#11 tf2 mac fps problem in Q/A Help
futureWith a proper config you should be running way more frames then that with an i5 processor, you really need to just part your hard drive and install windows. TF2 will run like butter man. I can get a constant 120 frames on my 2010 MacBook Pro with an i3 processor with a partioned hard drive. I mean it's not even a solid state

to be fair, these are iMacs, which run mobile i5s which are basically underclocked desktop i3s

edit: nvm, late 2012, it's a very underclocked desktop ivy bridge i5

don't forget that they've added new features that make the game more demanding on some machines, plus i doubt they maintain the OS X builds as well with such a small team now

#8 Not seeing some chat messages in Q/A Help
Mohiti dont think the filters have worked for a long time

filters work but they're weird

wattersonyour chat window should have a little filter button if the hud hasnt removed it

the chat window isn't something that can be edited by the hud very much, except for things like positioning and dimensions

#11 ping spikes in Q/A Help

a lot of routers also give you the ability to prioritize certain data over other data. specifically, I've set up mine to fully prioritize port 27015 from my IP over all other data in the house. Even if my brother is downloading a game at full speed, my ping in TF2 won't be affected at all (though mumble might be).
