#1 TF2 update for 6/23/22 in TF2 General Discussion

Via HLDS:

Valve- Fixed the client disconnect reason not always displaying
- Fixed sv_vote_holder_may_vote_no ConVar to work with the recent vote changes
- Fixed Spy feign deaths not showing the correct class portraits
- Fixed the backpack materials for the Rewired Rampage Perilous Peridots and Quarrelous Quartz community medals

Rumor has it:

- Other than the above changes, the only other noteworthy thing is that the "2022" was taken out of the Auspicious Automaton Assembler's Accolade medal's name

- Size is close to 1 MB

- Fixed projectiles sometimes colliding with teammates too early/late
- Fixed being able to change names during a matchmaking game
- Fixed some HUD images being blurry when using low texture settings

- Fixed sometimes not being able to vote on maps at the end of the round
- Updated the El Fiestibrero to fix a problem with the model
- Updated/Added some tournament medals
- Updated the localization files

Rumor has it:

- /u/BeepIsla (who you may or may not recognize from /r/GlobalOffensive) points out that "sv_no_name_changes" appears to have been silently added, which most likely does what it says on the tin - allows display name changes, or it doesn't (plus a few other commands)

- Tournament medal additions are as follows:
- TFCL Summer Cup 2022 (1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, Participant)

- This update breaks an 83 day servicing drought in a repetitive climate featuring swelling drought durations in recent years, and is the 5th update to happen so far in 2022
- By this point in the year in 2021, only 2 updates had been released - the 3rd would not happen for 1 more day on 6/22/21, which brought an end to the still-record-longest drought of 112 days (from 3/2/21 to 6/22/21)
- Had this update occurred yesterday instead, it would've tied at 2nd with the now-3rd place 82 day long drought set earlier this year (from 1/5/22 to 3/28/22)

#1 CS:GO update for late 6/15/22 (6/16/22 UTC) in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[GAMEPLAY]
Reduced the M4A1-S magazine size to 20 bullets, with 80 in reserve.

[MAPS]
Ancient:
-Remove cratestack outside of “cave” location
-Fixed pixelgap from inside “cave” towards T mid
-Fixed ground clipping bugs in mid causing players to go slightly airborne
-Smoothed out ground outside of “cave” down towards B ramp
-Blocked archeological dig inside of “cave”
-Smoothed out corners in “donut” room
-Added additional cover near pillar on B
-Blocked one sidepath exit towards A site, widened remaining exit
-Fixed some visual glitches when looking out towards mid from “donut” room
-Reduced wallbang damage through scaffolding at B site
-Boosted light emitted from candles/lanterns

Inferno:
-Increased bomb explosion damage from 500 to 620

Vertigo
-Another attempt at fixing molly through floor bug at mid
-Removed a position by ramp corner

Cache:
-Fixed an exploit. (Thanks El_Exodus!)

Vineyard
-Performance and stability improvements
-Ivy now sways in the wind
-Fixed displacement vphysics issues

Rumor has it:

- For reference, the M4A1-S used to have 25 bullets in a magazine and 75 in reserve
- This tweak also means you can now reload 4 times after emptying your magazine, instead of 3 times

- If you need help planning your plant locations on Inferno's A site with the expanded damage radius, /u/Special_Sell1552 on reddit tested various spots and drew a map of survival boundaries both with and without armor

- Map updates and a bit of system profiling plumbing aside, this later-than-usual update also contains an assortment of new and updated translations made possible with the help of Translators Like You - Thank You

- Reminder: time is running out to redeem your leftover Souvenir Tokens from PGL Antwerp 2022 before they expire on or after 6/20/22 (that's this coming Monday). Use them, or lose them
- You can also expect sticker sales to come to an end after this time as well

- Size is ~325 MB, a large part of this is due to map changes

#1 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update for 6/2/22 in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ANTWERP 2022]
– Sticker capsules are now 75% off.

[MAPS]
Iris
– Added a graffiti on B-site commemorating Nich’s winning clutch. Graffiti “Karambit from Heaven” designed by Danky_xD.
– Fixed spots where molotovs could damage players through walls (Thanks Crawlix).
– Fixed floating models, some unused collisions and missing textures (Thanks Joaokaka1998).
– Moved a model that could be confused for a player model (Thanks Maxim).
– Fixed doors that despawn after being damaged (Thanks Rikuda).

[STEAMINPUT]
– Added Gyro Enabling modes: ( Always On (Default) | Only when using scope button | and only when Aim Stick Neutral ).
– Added “Suppress Gyro” and “Toggle Gyro” SteamInput Actions. Can be stacked on any button in your controller configuration. “Suppress Gyro” is defaulted to Right Stick Click, stacked with “Reset to Horizon”.
– Added FlickStick option: Switch to conventional stick aiming while scoped.
– Added “Walk Zone” to Movement Stick. When feathering the movement stick, this forces the player into walk mode (i.e. +speed). A good alternative to Left Trigger Full Pull Walk. Set to zero to turn off/maintain pure analog movement.
– Changed Default controller layout.
– Quick Radial Menus now use Gyro as well as sticks. All Quick Radials in the default config chord with Right Stick.
– Added Official Steam Input SteamController configuration.
– Misc Fixes around controls and action sets.

Rumor has it:

- Take a peek at the "Karambit from Heaven" on Iris here, which also includes the winning user-submitted clutch from Nich in the map's 1st "community graffiti event" by its community authors

- FaZe Clan's player images shown when hovering over their name on the Antwerp 2022 button in Majors have been freshened up and as a bonus, now has significantly less harsh lighting

- Otherwise, the only other thing to point out about this relatively lighter update is an assortment of new and updated translations, made possible with the combined efforts of dedicated Translators Like You - Thank You

- Size is ~60 MB

#1 CS:GO update for 5/23/22 (5/24/22 UTC, 1.38.3.2) in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ANTWERP 2022]
– Antwerp 2022 Champions Autograph Capsules are now available for purchase. 50% of the proceeds go to the participating players and organizations.

[ MISC ]
– Various Steam Input improvements.
– FlickStick tweaks – turning is dampened when joystick is returning to the deadzone.
– Fixes for silencer equip/unequip.
– Added Acceleration and Precision options for Gyro.
– Gyro Camera is now set up to use 1:1 world rotation to in game rotation as a foundation, as opposed to arbitrary units. This is calibrated around the assumption that the “Gyro Camera” binding in the Steam Input Configurator is set to maximum sensitivity (600) (New Official bindings have been updated to use this).
– Removed “Quick Buy” radials from default controller bindings.
– Fixed Steam Input “Health Shot” command.
– Added short fade-in for Radial Menus. This does not change/delay any underlying behavior.

Rumor has it:

- (Spoiler Alert!) Available for US$1/CA$1.25 for an unspecified limited time, the PGL Antwerp 2022 Champions Autograph Capsule commemorates the winners,

Show Content
FaZe Clan!

- Each variant is viewable as follows:
- rain (Champion), Glitter, Holo, Gold
- karrigan (Champion), Glitter, Holo, Gold
- Twistzz (Champion), Glitter, Holo, Gold
- broky (Champion), Glitter, Holo, Gold
- ropz (Champion), Glitter, Holo, Gold
- and if there's a particular sticker that catches your eye, CS:GO Stash has shortcuts to both in-game inspection links as well as Steam Community Market links too

- For the time being, all of the rest of the stickers remain available for sale at the same price, and just like PGL Stockholm 2021, it's unknown when these stickers will go off sale, so get them before they're gone

- In addition to the Champions Autograph Capsule, the Antwerp 2022 button now contains the results as well as the winning squad when hovering over the name of the champions (Spoiler Alert!)
- However, replays continue to remain unavailable as the game still claims they've "expired", even for the main event matches within the last few days

- New inscriptions have been made on both the in-game Quarter-/Semi-/Finalist as well as the Champion trophy with the same names:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXBW2zqwIDA

- These trophies have already been distributed to eligible participants' inventories

- A bit of VACnet work had surfaced in this update, including a few profiles where some type of anti-tampering is being enforced by default, some of which are real developers, others seem to be dummy accounts
- But it appears it wasn't meant to be seen, as it was stripped out in update #2

- Size is close to 40 MB

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[STEAM INPUT]
– Added support for “-nojoy” command line parameter to fully suppress Steam Input performance overhead.

Rumor has it:

- In addition to under-the-hood engine work, there's also an assortment of new and updated translations (a lot of them specifically in Greek and Norwegian) which have been made possible with the collective efforts of Translators Like You - Thank You

- Size is ~15 MB

Vineyard
-Fixed a regression in Village that could be used to get out of bounds
-Greatly reduced the amount of small displacements across the map to further increase game stability
-Changed windows in Fort
-Fixed a spot near the river where you could previously get stuck in

Rumor has it:

- Killcam key prompts after you die are no longer hard-coded to the default of F5. If you've set up a different key, it will now properly show your key to press to save a killcam

- While the map updates make up the majority of this update's size, don't discount a small helping of localization file updates for a few languages, made possible with the help of contributions from Translators Like You - Thank You

- Size is close to 300 MB

Rumor has it:

- A lot has changed in the world since the last update, but Translators Like You (- Thank You) continue to work their magic to help put together some updated localization files

- This is just the 2nd update to occur in 2022 so far. A new 2nd-longest drought of 82 days (from 1/5/22 through to today) has been brought to an end with this update
