#22 tf2 sens problem in Q/A Help

FYI: Windows sens(including windows accel) is no longer a factor if you can verify that raw input is in fact enabled.

#4 KNHUD crosshair help in Q/A Help

find your crosshair in hudlayout.res(found in /tf/scripts, open it with notepad or something similar) then mess with the xpos, ypos, wide, and tall values until you get it centered.

#50 A new tournament website in TF2 General Discussion
CanFoIn the meantime, if anyone thinks he/she is capable of hosting at least 3-4 tournaments per month for the US community, please talk to me.

Jump on that enigma/mocha/whoever else works in the shadows around here. I imagine a tournament organized by teamfortress.tv would fare much MUCH better than any CEVO/ESEA(or other group) tournament.

#3 Restorind old Headphones? in Hardware

You could try this for the headband foam, but it looks like you might have to buy the ear pad replacements straight from Sennheiser.

FFGi hate braided cables because they always get used up on the corners and edges of the table where my computer is, its the main reason my old g5 died on me

Run your cable under your monitor stand or something else heavy, giving some slack for your mouse. That way your cable never moves on the side that goes to your computer, only on the side that goes to the mouse.

Also, my second G400 just died after 6 months with the same classic cable issue. :[

#11 Movement in TF2 General Discussion

OK OK OK. The key to dodging is NOT random movement. The secret is to -dodge-. Don't get into the habit of spamming random keys trying to be unpredictable. Once you stop focusing on that, you'll end up having a pretty easy to follow pattern of movement. Just stay calm when fighting and try to pay attention to people's weapon models, predicting where they'll shoot next.

Basically be reactive with your dodging, not proactive(most of the time).

Also, having movement with a purpose rather than random button presses will do wonders for your aim.

The side buttons on my Deathadder went out after like a year. I loved the mouse but now I have a G400(although I should mention this is my second G400, Logitech sent me another for free when I started having intermittent issues with the cable). They both have their own issues with build quality, but you'll still be getting one of the best mice on the market regardless of which one you choose. The only major difference is how you like to hold your mouse.

#91 What's your job, TF.TV? in Off Topic

I assemble cellular survey equipment for a company that takes lots of government contracts. I plan on actually attending college sometime in the future.

All I have is a high school diploma with some cool sounding computer classes that I took junior and senior year, but I have a sweet job at a fast growing company doing things I'm not even allowed to talk about. My point is that(IMO) interviews, social connections, and personality matter way more than GPA(in most cases) because those are what determine what kind of impact you will have on the company. I'm not saying you should say screw it, and drop your GPA a point and a half, just that you shouldn't stress out about applying to a job with a "dreadful" 3.4 or something. Unless your GPA blows, it only really matters when you're competing against people with the same qualifications as you and you have little to no personal interaction with the people reading the resumes.

Take this all with a salt shaker because I haven't actually gone to college, and I'm probably just really lucky to have such a sweet job right now.

#49 New Mic/Headset Advice in Hardware

http://i.imgur.com/dPtbjki.jpg

Please, PLEASE stop recommending the Blue Snowball to people who like to play video games. It's designed to be used for recording podcasts and instruments, not relatively soft voices from a foot or two away. It will record those voices, but it'll also record a bunch of background noise. The modmic is half the price, and sounds much better than a snowball sitting on the desk(the snowball will only sound better if it's sitting really close to your mouth, but then you have a giant ball in your face).

Yes, I am mad.

#26 New Mic/Headset Advice in Hardware

To be fair atmo, the Carcharias does sound pretty good. Does it sound as good as 80$ headphones? No. But it's definitely at the top compared to most gaming headsets plus it's really comfortable. The only issues I've really heard about with the Carcharias are just build quality issues where the mic or one of the earcups goes out.

Try disabling the per-game profiles or whatever they're called in Logitech Gaming Software. I remember that causing weird issues with the G500.
