Bioishzbtdarkk-Certain versions of HDMI (1.4a or 1.4b I think) can technically support the bandwidth for 1080p @ 120hz, but the problem is no 120hz monitor I know of will support it.Can max out bf3 and get above 60 fps , and i get above 180 fps in tf2..
I think you could run 1280x720 at 120hz, give it a try. I don't think your laptop would be able to run 1920x1080 at above 60 fps anyways.
Anyways hdmi 1.4 is it about the cable or the port? sry im a BIGG newb at this
and
Is it possible to get a dual dvi to vga/hdmi cable to achieve 120hertz or shall i have a dvi port for 120hertz?
You need a 1.4b HDMI CABLE. And you can't use VGA at all. HDMI is still pretty bad for pushing 1080p 120hz, but you have a laptop, which doesn't offer an option for DL-DVI. So HDMI is all you've got.
Oh Dear god THANK you, was just getting worried that i couldn't run 120hertz on my new monitor, well kinda don
