It works as a part of your HUD. I see no reason why it would not work on sv_pure.
Edit: Just confirmed. I took that SS on my server and it was running sv_pure 2.

So, since I was having problems installing the konr wings into my hud, I had the idea of using images instead of fonts for your crosshair which brings with it all kinds of possibilities.
Thanks to Trog I now know that it is possible (thx for the help again) so I'm putting the results here for you to download.
These are the rainbow konr wings that I made in photoshop and that I'm going to use from now:

With the files comes a pic with instructions from Trog on how to "install" it.
Basically, you copy the "materials" folder into your crosshair folder and then copypaste the text from the text file into your hudlayout.res.
The great thing about this technology is that it isn't limited to konr wings.
Want that crosshair from another game but it's not featured in any hud? Can be selfmade now.
Always wanted to have a banana as your crosshair? No problem.
If there is something specific that you want but you can't shop it yourself, post it here. Maybe I (or someone else) can help when I/whoever has some time.
IF ANYONE NEEDS HELP OR ANY MODIFICATIONS ON THIS, CONTACT ME ON STEAM.
YOU CAN EASILY MODIFY IT BY ALTERING THE .vtf FILE IN THE "MATERIALS FOLDER".

Looks fun.
Tbh, I am much more confident in my shopping skills to make myself a rainbow konr wing vpk than to edit the config files of my hud because I don't know jack shit about those. I will try following the steps in that thread again, and if that doesn't work I will try if I can get it working as an image. If I actually manage to do it, I will post it for people to use.

I have it all set up correctly, I'm just saying that when I try to "install" those konr wings nothing happens. And I modified stuff before steampipe so I assumed that since steampipe it's not working.
I do not want to change my hud. PV gives me just what I need and if I switched now I would need to modify an entire hud to my likings and not just the crosshair.
As for the font question, I understand that but what prevents me from disabling all "HUD crosshairs" and the default one and then have a n image with the crosshair layed over everything? That way rainbow coloring would be no problem.
As far as colors go i think the way stabby has it is the best way. Depending on which movement key you press the color changes ( switches between green, magenta or something like that and a light blue ) you can change the colors to whatever you want by changing the rgb code.
I think that would bug the shit out of me. But I'll play around with these color settings when I have the crosshair itelf working. But right now I have no idea how.
why can't the crosshair just be a .png that's part of my hud?
Also, quick question: Why do I have to mess with ttf files and all that stuff, why can't the crosshair just be a .png that's part of my hud?
I followed the instructions in that thread but since steampipe it does not work for me. I also found another thread that explained how to do it after steampipe, but it didn't work for me as well. I replaced and edited the mentioned files but it had no effect in game.
Since steampipe I failed to change anything about my crosshair except the color via chris' config crosshairswitcher and the shape using the tf2 menu.
I would like to change my crosshair a little. What I am thinking of is a tiny dot in the middle with (maybe slightly larger than usual) konr wings around it. Ideally retaining the ability to change the color or have it in some weird rainbow color that always stands out. I am using PVHud.
Is this possible?
I wonder why so many people whine about the DA drivers. Sure, you have to download a software and install it and it's all very bloated. But it does work, updates itself, never really had problems with it. And the "connect profile with exe" thing was nifty.
I gotta say though, the no software at all for the Zowie and the awesome dpi button is 10x more comfortable.
truktrukthe301stspartanAlso why are you guys upfragging him.because it's a copypasta that was the chat, narf watches streams all the time afaik

I don't understand how people can even ask if vsynch is bad after having tried it just for one second. When I had it one once out of curiosity it felt like the zoomcam in minecraft.
I would move my mouse and like 2 seconds later the camera would slowly start moving, then accelerate, then slow down and reach its destination a few seconds later.

Reporting back after the Zowie arrived.
Best mouse ever for me, fits my hand completely (better than the DA) and the grip is absolutely perfect (I have the white glossy version). The dpi button is actually super useful. Not even the autoswitcher in the synapse program could switch dpi as fast as I can with one button click now. The mousewheel is awesome, it gives good feedback and allows you to scroll "one weapon at a time". The mouse is light and has basically no lod. Your only problems may be if you have big hands and come from the DA that you will have to position your thumb differently to reach the back side button without pressing the front one. But you automatically adapt to that when using the mouse and it will soon work with your natural grip. I give the EC1 a 10/10.
