#20 Lunchbox's Malware Removal Guide in Off Topic

make sure to use a script blocker plug-in in your browser. Microsoft Security Client > the antivirus software you listed.

Otherwise that list is pretty much what I use, good stuff!

#39 low fps on tf2 with gtx 970 in Q/A Help

Use NVENC in the OBS "encoding" options for streaming, this uses the GPU not the CPU to do all the work, so you're avoiding the bottleneck, using your monstrous GPU instead.

Use ProcessLasso for automatically setting Core Affinities (untick Core0 for everything but TF2, it biases that core so it's the first to max out at 100% load, causing FPS drops and stuttering).

With these two tweaks, streaming should give you 0 FPS hit.

JarateKingstabbyHm...so would a fix be possible then?

I really find it ruins the mod for me :(

As for DR fix...erm, how please? :}
The only real fix afaik would be gpu tweaks (bonafide did a bunch of work and got some examples earlier, but then again you could just lod bias it. Also been roughly looking into shader mods which from what I've been told would need to be from external dll's and that's dabbling into VAC territory so I haven't really tried it). Since vmt's were patched to completely reload before joining a server, using that's gone, and that's really all I had beforehand. In the mean time, I don't think it'd be possible.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/o6jhyoecl9zjh6f/__dr_cloak_fix.vpk?dl=1
This vpk should work as a fix for the DR in the mean time. It's just the default vmt packed into a vpk. I didn't test it though, so if you run into any errors then tell me.

Would really like my game to look the same all the time, sv_pure 1 or 0, but thanks that's a useful option.

I was hoping simply resizing the texture from 4x4 to "normal" size would do it, if I understood what you were saying (not likely!). I do use the LOD bias tweak with nvidia inspector already at +15--what exactly are you referring to in that regard?

As for shader mods, I've already started using SweetFX after researching it enough to feel comfortably safe from VAC. No idea how to make custom presets, but maybe someone who does will step up someday.

Well thanks so much for the replies and the upload :) Hopefully this mod returns one of these days. Will definitely include it in the "Everything Pack" if it ever functions normally again.

Yeah the odd thing is that it doesn't happen consistently...sv_pure or not.

Pardon the necro...

The FLAT mod does seem to be working still...but with a major bug popping up consistently.

Part of the time it works perfectly, but sometimes on loading a map a pattern of crosshatched lined appears upon all the textures.

Does anyone else experience this? Any ideas for a fix?

Thanks!

PS
The models mod prevents the spy's cloaked viewmodel from being transparent, so there's no way to tell if your DR has been proc'd :(

#4 Everything Pack: All the TF2 tweaks and tools in TF2 General Discussion
HotCoffeeYou have obviously put a lot of time and effort into the TF2 centric items as well as researching all those hardware manipulations and I thank you for it. You're cool too. Could you go into a little detail on how to interpret the plots of the mouse testing software. For reference my data just appears to be a plot of mouse movements. My mouse is 6+ years old and I play on a wooden chessboard. <-- I know I'm fucked.

I'm probably not the guy to go to that for :(

I'd recommend asking in this thread:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1535687/mousetester-software

and thanks ^^

Feedback appreciated, btw. I will release an update if there's anything wrong with the pack or if there are any glaring omissions.

- *Null-Cancelling Movement Script* allows you to change directions before you've released the opposing direction's key ("a" and "d" for instance)

http://etf2l.org/forum/customise/topic-6647/page-57/

- *No Backstab Animation mod* (Makes your backstabs look like normal pokes, as happens in no-crit servers (I don't use it, but people are always asking about it when I play comp.)

- **Razer Surround Sound** (Excellent Surround Sound virtulization for headphone users)

- **Process Lasso** (Automatically manage Core Affinities)

- A tiny DPC-Latency reducing app called **SetTimerResolution**

- **NVIDIA Inspector GPU tweaker** (advanced NVIDIA options, allows for blocky textures "LOD Tweak". "Max Performance" and "Max Quality" profiles provided))

- **MarkC mousefix** for desktop Windows mouse accel.

- **Mouse-testing software** (Assess various aspects of your mouse's performance)

- **SweetFX** (modify game colors and appearance with various effects in really stunning ways. Good for improving visibility)

- **SourceGL** (launches game using RInput, an alternative form of m_rawinput; also provides a Digital Vibrance toggler to allow for different DV on the Desktop and pre-defined values for individual games)

- **Achievement Unlocker** (allows for unlocking all achievements with a click, among other things)

- **PRec** (automatically record a demo when playing competitively; bookmarking and sorting features)

Please back up everything before you install any of this.

**Read the .cfg and .txt files, especially the README.txt's!** This is *necessary*!

The "tf" folder can be pasted right into "C:\Program FIles (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2"

Before and after applying anything performance-related, record a short demo of normal gameplay by entering "record benchmarkme" in the console. Then enter "timedemo benchmarkme" to get a performance report of TF2's FPS. Results are logged in your "tf" folder in the files "Sourcebench.csv" which can be opened with Notepad. Don't eyeball it! These tweaks will only hurt if they don't improve your performance so please bother to check that they help YOU not just me.

Best,
stabby stabby

#78 Transparent Viewmodels in any HUD in Customization
SmitleyjdSo during kill cams and spectating, and when hiding my viewmodel, I get a slight darkening of my screen. This is extremely annoying as on sniper I hide my viewmodel. I tried playing with the transparent viewmodel, and I still can't stand it.

Anyone have a fix for this?

I'd love to continue to use this, but this is a dealbreaker.

Has to do with the cart/intel glow cvar.

You'll have to set the weapons you use with viewmodels on to turn the cart glow on and weapons with viewmodels off to disable the cart glow, if you want to use both.

#9 tf_matchmaking cvars in TF2 General Discussion
zooobI'm pretty sure that these are old cvars that have been around for years and affect quickplay only.

Ah ok, never noticed them when going through the list for some reason, or forgot.

Thanks.

#6 tf_matchmaking cvars in TF2 General Discussion
kounterpartsSome of these cvars really worry me, dont get me wrong im really excited for mm, but wtf is this

tf_matchmaking_noob_map_score_boost : 0 : , "cl" : Boost added for quick-plaay scoring purposes if you are a noob and the map is considered noob-friendly
tf_matchmaking_join_in_progress : 1 : , "a", "norecord", "cl" : Saved preference for if the player wants to join games in progress.

Ive never been so confused, it feels like a literal competitive pub, im probably wrong but something just doesnt add up.

The first sounds like something to make it more likely for "noobs" to be assigned to "noob maps", the second just sounds like an option for being will to quick-join a game as a substitute.

Highlander in all likelihood. Valve isn't a fan of 6's.
