#9 Weird problem with CFG's in Q/A Help
crackbabydumpstercan we just post this thread next time mastercom asks why we just want a simple gfx.cfg

exec this
https://github.com/mastercoms/mastercomfig/blob/release/config/mastercomfig/cfg/comfig/comfig.cfg
then exec one of these
https://github.com/mastercoms/mastercomfig/tree/release/config/cfg/presets

Would probably be shit in comparison to what features the comfig has to offer but its there.

In an ideal world the the config wouldn't undergo any design changes breaking old features, but shit happens I guess.

#7 Weird problem with CFG's in Q/A Help
SevenSomewhere I could have absolutely sworn that the thing to do now was calling them scout_c or pyro_c or engineer_c

This is a deprecated mastercomfig feature. If you want to continue using mastercomfig, make sure you're on the newest version and move your custom configs into a subdirectory called "user" eg. /cfg/user/scout.cfg

Also make sure that if you are calling execs inside your class configs and you move them into the user subdirectory that you use exec user/configname.cfg. A lot of people get stuck on that when porting their config folder to new mastercomfig.

If you don't want to continue using mastercomfig, rename your class configs back to their original class names without the _c.

#1 ETF2L ban crouch peaking as sniper in TF2 General Discussion

http://etf2l.org/2020/03/22/highlander-season-21-powered-by-mannco-store-scheduling-update-and-more/

etf2lWe’re adding the crouching sniper player model bug to the list of of banned exploits.etf2lExamples of banned exploits:
...
Crouching sniper player model

They're passing crouch peaking as sniper as a bug because the hitboxes are unfavourable to countersnipers. I don't think its reasonable at all to call peaking a corner as sniper while crouching a bug or an exploit. I'd really like to hear an explanation as to why admins decided to ban peaking a corner while crouched as sniper.

#3561 PC Build Thread in Hardware
_KermitDo you really need 32GB of RAM? That would be a nice way to save some money to put towards a better cooler or motherboard.

yeah, a daw uses crazy ram, if i could put more in i would

Fake...

Thanks for your feedback :)

Updated: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/BFnXhg

Apparently the single core boost can push the cpu power draw way up so now have 550W psu, swapped out the ram and mobo for your suggestion. Kept the cooler because I'm really trying to save money as much as possible here.

Thinking of buying these parts for using a daw and playing the newest games and tf2:

Any issues with them? Time matters so what can arrive in the next couple of days is selected.

#102 ETF2L Ban Policy in TF2 General Discussion
JackyLegsETF2L are setting a dangerous precedent here, going beyond their bounds as a league & forums, actively banning people for anything they find offensive
...
whats stopping them from going around handing more bans like these to anyone they find offending them?
  • ETF2L are an independent organisation made up of volunteers that work for free, they can do whatever they want with their service. They can refuse to work for free for anyone.
  • ETF2L staff moderate a community that is bigger than themselves, excluding people from that community isn't their decision.

The ETF2L staff have to work around these two conflicting ideals to make decisions best for the league and the community. If they only picked one of these in every case ETF2L wouldn't likely be the main European league. One case doesn't necessarily mean that the ETF2L admins are "out of line" or going to make these sorts of decisions in every case.

Also if you're gonna say something that shit about a person you can't be surprised when their friends want nothing to do with you.

#92 ETF2L Ban Policy in TF2 General Discussion

So all the guys complaining that cheaters aren't banned as long gonna be okay picking someone up for their team that was banned for using cheats?

I think the ban being so long that it's effectively permanent is kind of the point. Maybe given the right approach they could get the ban lifted but the way they argued with the ugc admins effectively shows that they don't actually care about the morality at all.

#12 good pc bad fps in Q/A Help
kimdunno man, this i7 4th MQ is known to be the hotest so, i just looked and found that it's max can go to 100 and can handle it well, also the only problem i get is some stutter when i turn around in game, otherwise having 60fps with no stutter isn't a problem for me since i used to play on 30fps, undervolting will maybe reduce about 5°c and reduce performance which in my opinion isn't worth it

My w540 with a 4800MQ had exactly this issue running at the same temps because of thermal throttling. Check on hwinfo or whatever to see if thermal throttling is happening. If it is, your PC would run faster but refuses to because it could cause damage to your cpu. Having a consistent processor speed that doesn't need to thermal throttle, even if you have lower fps, will feel way better.

#8 good pc bad fps in Q/A Help
kimscrambled..wait how did u know XD it's a lenovo thinkpad w541
I might clean it and change the thermal paste cuz it's a 2015 laptop
Also it might seem high but as i said it's still on the average/normal temp in games, everything is cool when m not playing (41°C - 49°C)

98 is very high, max operating temp is 100 and it'll thermal throttle to keep it below that point.

#6 good pc bad fps in Q/A Help

did you get a w540?

my w540 runs in to problems with thermal throttling if I run tf2 on it :(

Assuming its an old laptop you got second hand, best you can do is open it up and clear out all the fans + reapply thermal paste. If your temps are still high I'd recommend underclocking, thermal throttling in my experience makes the game run incredibly jank. Lowering your max framerate might also help with temps.

#4 Driver update effect on mouse in Hardware

its really difficult to comprehend any of the details of your post

What is LG?
Was this a usual occurence that used be fixed by resetting your PC?
Are you only trying one mouse?
If so, are you able to plug your mouse into a different PC to test it?
Does your PC run hot?
