#10 MGEMod bug in Q/A Help
CpriceThe only time I've seen this is when I've accidentally had 2 copies of the .smx file in the plugins folder. Make sure that isn't the case? otherwise add me on steam/if you could let me take a look at your servers ftp I could maybe fix it.

fixed, thanks guys!

#1 MGEMod bug in Q/A Help

a weird problem, but it seems every command in mge is repeated twice, including chat messages, player health, and !add commands

http://i.imgur.com/cCpOakg.png

this results in having to add twice, since the server thinks you added twice

http://i.imgur.com/Bn3PnnE.png

and player health

http://i.imgur.com/8JFxdQO.png

the most annoying is when the 1st player wins, and another is in the queue, it adds the 3rd once, then the 2nd player again, matching players 1 and 2 against each other again.

any help is appreciated, and i can upload any info about the server's sourcemod and mgemod plugins at request.

#4 displayport to vga adapter help in Hardware

in order to achieve more than 60Hz you need to connect your actual graphics card to the monitor, so hdmi won't work. i used this cable: (mini dp to dp) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A7R9I2M/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but my monitor has a displayport input

this cord doesn't output to vga, just wondering if it would help.

#67 Stalemates Revisited in TF2 General Discussion

i think, along with the rest of the community.

but i feel that stalemates bring out the best in a strategic team. having the time to think carefully and converse with your team about how best to gain ground and ultimately win the game is, as a roamer main, the most enjoyable part of a match.

that being said, there is no reason that process should take more than 3-5 minutes, and so i would support limiting the time a team could potentially use to stall the game.

#27 low frames in Q/A Help
TechDudeSetting -high should also set TF2's priority.

I doubt it will help anything, and may even make things worse. You have plenty of CPU power available so it's not like TF2 is fighting other processes for the CPU. Often priority settings also mess with the other processes that an application integrates with. You should not need to set high priority.

What temperature is your system getting up to while gaming? You can use HWMonitor to check these.

Have you tried (backing maps/configs/demos up first) deleting (or renaming) the "Team Fortress 2" folder in the common steam files? (This will cause steam to re-generate them)

i've never seen my comp peak over 90°C

im in the process of re-installing tf2 (having copied the tf folder)

and when i've tried using -high in the past it just increased stuttering

extracrispyi personally got better performance when i set tf2 be high priority using a program called prio.

goofy domain name.. lol

does putting -high in tf2's launch options do the same thing, or is this different?

TechDudeDo you have the laptop set to "High Performance" in the power options?

Do you have the video card enabled (often Nvidia's Optimus lets you switch between integrated and your actual gpu).

Do you have an updated Nvidia driver? The latest for you looks to be 331.82 from here:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/70187

i've modified the balanced settings to include everything high performance upgrades in terms of processor and gpu limitations

im not sure where to check if i have the card enabled, but it is driving my monitor and in the nvidia control panel, it has this:

not sure what to pick here.

my driver is up to date.

#20 low frames in Q/A Help
TechDudeCheck what this cvar is set to on your system (default is 50, it is in units of ms)

engine_no_focus_sleep

This means that when the game is minimized the max frame rate it can run at is 1/.05 which is 20fps and will not need as much cpu!

Try setting the cvar to 0 and see what the cpu usage is while minimized.

Also, make sure mat_queue_mode is set to -1 (This enables multicore)

my mat_queue_mode was set to 2, thanks for the tip!

but, like you, my comp also uses about 25% of the cpu. i guess the problem lies with tf2, sad that performance is only declining with each "update".
