Good kid and good player even though he can be a bit of a shithead sometimes. Once you understand his 'tude is because he's a big softy at heart you'll get along.

Sup gaymers, looking to get a feel for what's out there this season. Looking to play demonstration individual with a solid group of players.

Since people are having a stroke over this thread I was told to add more detail and make it prettier:

#53 Community CEVO Vote in TF2 General Discussion
eeesynchrothis poll is essentially asking how much people would donate to a prize pot. Not really sure what's missing there. The answer is nothing for everyone who isn't a playoff contender. I'm a shitty player so I get nothing out of a prize pot. People are okay with a league fee because it makes people approach the game differently, and most people are perfectly fine with $5 for a bunch of ggs over the next few months. But $20 so the exinvite player who made a team with his friends can roll our team and then win the division is retarded. Make open cheap as shit, since the money is way more symbolic than anything. Invite and Main could have larger prize pots and donations and shit since (theoretically), any given team should have a reasonable chance of winning. Open and to a lesser extent IM aren't as well put together, lacking a round robin format and given Open's large skill range.

It's hardly symbolic. It's an investment that commits people to actually playing instead of forfeiting whenever the time-frame interferes with breaking bad or whatever. Unless you can find something symbolic that people can commit to?

ProtatoHuckProtatorip cevo dream
i guess im forever ugc because no money
You don't have the ability to scrounge up 10 dollars twice a year and then 7 bucks a month?
the point is i dont wanna pay money to play a free game :[]

I have great news! You don't have to pay money to play a free game! Unfortunately, you have to pay money if you want to play in some leagues, mainly, the leagues which offer, when you win, some prizes which is paid for, you guessed it, by the money you put in. Crazy.

I'll just assume that you aren't trolling Mr. Slin.

To build off of what Hawkeye is saying: More than simply testing the degree of commitment or interest, they're trying to market themselves (or Nahanni, wisely, is trying to market it as) a league which cares about what the individual players want. Why? Because the whole possible "exodus" was based off of discontentment with the way ESEA was doing business, ie, coin mining without your knowledge or consent, etc. So the response from CEVO? Doing things with your knowledge and consent. In truth, this isn't what CEVO is doing but what Nahanni is doing because she realizes a lot of the issues that people had with ESEA.

Simpler:
Problem -> understand problem -> response to problem.

I don't really understand all this ranting and complaining, honestly.

Mr_OwltriplemintI still think Lonely Hearts will win a match and make it to playoffs. Sure their schedule is hard but they're a great team with really smart players. Pretty sure you're underestimating them, Owl.
I don't doubt that they could win a match at all. However, I'd give them a less than 50% shot in each of their remaining matches (against mesr's team, budsquad, and medical geniuses). I think that most of us can agree that Budsquad is the better team so I won't go into that matchup much. The other two matchups, however, are just bad for Lonely Hearts in particular. Mesr's team is filled with players with a ton of experience who won't fall for a lot of the +fwd stuff that sherman and romeo do on the flank. Lonely Hearts relies too much on their DM and doesn't have a great connection between the combo and flank (I haven't seen every match that LH has played this season, but this seems to be the case especially in their most recent matches). Medical Geniuses, on the other hand, has one of the two scout combos in open who I think can actually outplay sherman and romeo on even ground in Hugh and Stoch. Add to that Xan on demo on a strong demo map like snakewater, and I think MD takes that one in the 5-3 range.

Lonely Hearts making playoffs I believe comes down to the match against Masturb8 to Anime on viaduct, and while I think it'll be a great match, I have mesr's team taking it.

All that said, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they win any of the three matches. All 6 of the players on that team are very very good at TF2.

RIP in pretzels, preds.

PlatinumDitch the league, competition dies because there's no incentive. I disagree with esea and how they operate, but they offer the best competition because theres something to strive toward and win. If you don't understand that anything I say won't help you get it. If the community wants to go to another league, go! We are only 2 teams. Pretend mixup and it quit the game and operate under that facade. If traction gains and theres something to play for, I'm sure we would play. However right now it's a bunch of whiney idiots barking up a storm with no intention to actually change anything.

It's not about barking up a storm but barking up a sense of community. Many people are trying to collaborate to ensure that whatever league people migrate to has some standard (as far as servers, anti-cheat, website, which would hopefully bring in lots of good players, ensuring a standard of competition, as well). It seems that the invite players are just washing their hands of this, not wanting to take part in possibly important decisions. Instead it's a "you guys do it, it probably won't work, but if it does, we'll join after you guys make it work".
