Argument flawed, I present to the court evidence #54, masons verbal diarrhea.

Ragorismnoobiesnerd shit
I get the feeling that you're in an extremely small minority that was visited by the hurt feelings police because of that match. If both parties involved were okay with it, you're literally fabricating your own reasons to be upset by proxy.

It's like you guys don't even want to read. I elaborated on what I meant when talking about disrespect for Platinum. A clarification. But i mentioned, twice I believe, that I didn't actually know whether they did or didn't so that ultimately it didn't matter. At the bottom I said what I personally took exception to.... which.. well.. you can go back and read it.

MangachuHe called you a kid what now mason????
Also whats your point, that makes no sense

Don't worry, you'll cover some elementary literature analysis in grade 9. It'll come.

Marxistnoobies, that's less of a statement about mix^'s conduct and more of a statement about the state of invite and the competitive level therein.

Or both? I already commented on this above.

m"ya u guys are assholes by not going out of ur way to help ur competition"

is that really what youre fucking saying

oh my god are you a real person

You're a special kind of stupid, kid. It's in everyone's best interest for the competition to get better. For more information, look at history (you can limit this to the past 100 or 1000 years, or maybe 2000 years, your call). iT wouldn't be iT if all they had to play against was vector gaming and 6 cuties.

PlatinumSo I play a class that you determine is disrespectful and I get chastised, however you don't think it's disrespectful for ex invite players to offclass to something respectable and sandbag in open? I don't understand the logic behind that. If huntsman is so bad and disrespectful, it should have been easy as hell to push out and win the game, correct?

You mean Seanbuds team saying they'll play only with sniper until they lose and then he plays scout? No, I think the whole thing is a pretty big shit show, they cut people to make sure they stayed at the top, they aren't there "just for fun" but clearly want to win.

I think it's a delicate situation, honestly. It isn't a big secret that there isn't too much competition between the top of invite and the bottom of invite. If the statement is "If I can go huntsman and they can't push out then these guys probably don't belong in invite" then I might agree with you. On the other hand, some team has to get to invite, you can't just be 4 teams there. It would seem to me that respect and opportunities to improve in game situations would be extended to them, since, any team that will get to invite will probably be in the lowerish half of invite. Like I said, I don't actually know whether 6 cuties took offense to it or felt it was disrespectful. I moreso took exception to your suggestion that going huntsman was a-ok because it wouldn't affect your possibility of making lan and, by extension, as "proof" that we need something to play for in order to take it seriously.

dubiousThe perspective changes i guess depending on if you consider offclassing like crazy is disrespectful to the other team and says to them that they're not worth fighting seriously, or that it's just a spot of fun that does no harm if nothing is truly at stake.

Teams are always looking to get better. By off-classing you rob them of that opportunity, as well. Whether 6 cuties thought it was disrespectful or not is a whole other thing. When starting out I remember teams doing that to me and it was pretty annoying. I definitely try to not do it to other teams and would rather roll them than go huntsman.

PlatinumCommunity wants to abandon esea to join xx league for "fun competition", we offclass to have fun and prolong a match, bring out the pitch forks. Do you see what happens when there is nothing to play for? For the rest of the esea season, no matter what we do our lan seed won't change. With nothing to play for, fun is the only option and therefore competition dwindles. Even after a few minutes 6 cuties joined in on the fun because - nothing mattered - exactly what will happen if some new league sprouts up that has no incentive to try your hardest.

Maybe you guys should go back to playing in Open where people still take it seriously with no lan? Your whole comment is fairly disingenuous. The idea of a whole league being held hostage so adults-acting-as-children - "give me lan or i'll go huntsman" - have their way, is silly.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was funny as fuck. But that you would try to justify it this way is nothing short of acting like a baby. Plenty of people take it seriously (Open, IM, Main, ie, a majority) without having a lan. I'm not really sure that the argument could be made that people are playing in hope of one day making lan, either (ie, playing only in hope of one day being in invite). Even if I was able to join invite I don't think I would because, honestly, I don't have the time. Probably not everyone feels that way but the point is, this isn't the only thing that motivates people to take it seriously.

TL;DR, Have fun but you can't possibly be surprised when people shit on you for being disrespectful. You don't need a lan to not be disrespectful.

JohnMilterBrad is not some martyr, He pretty obviously suffers from bipolar disorder or some similar affliction. Its really unhealthy for people to feed his delusion.

Whether he's delusional or not doesn't matter so much. The issue itself could still be worth the conversation, regardless of how it started.

It seems to me that what ESEA has is the prestige surrounding it. People like to say they're IM or Main or whatever and I don't think it's superficial or vain. Ultimately, you want to feel like you're making progress. Going from open to IM shows that.. well.. you were good enough to go to IM (depending on seasons this means less than others). I think for CEVO to really want to step it up there would need to be divisions. The difficult part is that it's a league that's restarting so even if it were to start divisions next season based off of this season there would only 13 teams (or whatever it is) and any new team would.. simply start at the bottom of their open division? You could try and count on teams' own judgement of where they could fit. Unfortunately, you could still end up with teams who think they can perform better than they actually can (especially since a self-ranking like this is impossible to do without knowing what the other teams in your division look like). Maybe they could try a kind of "committee" approach. You get some high level (esea) invite team on board as a committee, hopefully individuals who could be without or with as little-as-possible bias, and have them scrim each team which signs up. The invite team could, hopefully, be able to gauge where the teams should be placed.

I guess what I'm saying is that I think if CEVO played their cards right (which might not be any of what i said above) they could hurt ESEA, a lot. As of now, if you were to tell some guys on this board "hey I won UGC" or "hey I won cevo" no one would care and might make fun of you for even stating it because they're seen as not-very-serious leagues or "hey this is a free 100$" (which I think is what iT are going for by having signed up for CEVO). Change the communities mentality surrounding those leagues and you have yourself some competition.

Edit: Obviously I think one of the bigger things they could also do is talk about their future projects. Are they looking to get a LAN going? If not then this might never be the league that we're looking for. CEVO could have a huge advantage right now if they maintain communication with the community as open as possible, what their plans are, what they hope is going to happen, what kind of money they'd need, etc.

For anyone planning to fly out to Montreal, depending on where you are, look into Allegiant (http://www2.allegiantair.com) who now have a connection to Plattsburgh. Taking the greyhound from there to Montreal is maybe 2-3 hours and only 20$. Another possibility is checking flights going into Burlington (BTV) and taking the greyhound up here. Often times the combination of these flights + greyhound will be cheaper than straight to Montreal.

what does quantum flux even mean?

It's a pretty bad word to use if that's what they mean since flux itself means something else within physics/mathematics.
