HL players

Well I played on dx 81 before and it was fine, it's a recent thing.

When I switch to dxlevel 81 I can't see rocket smoke trials, medi-beams or buffed effects on players, among other things. When I go to dxlevel 91 it works fine, but I like to get good frames so I need to find some sort of fix. Honestly really confused.

I am looking for a roaming soldier mentor to help me out with demos and answer some questions I have. I have 1 season of experience and around 1700 hours on the game (Idle hours excluded). I have a lot of time to commit and I am very motivated to get better as I am tired of being bad.
I feel my DM and jumps shouldn't get in the way of doing well as they are probably my strongest point.
