#2 Thorin talks about TF2 and small e-sports in Esports

Amen to what he says. A lot of us would be better off if we spent less time worrying about the popularity of the game and more time playing it.

#191 sigafoo's Challenge Cup in TF2 General Discussion

I was 100% willing to throw together a puggy roster just to give this a try before, now I doubt I could find 6 other people even if I still wanted to play myself.

#74 sigafoo's Challenge Cup in TF2 General Discussion

Kind amazing that whoever wins this free cup with fucked up rules gets as much money as the IM winners and more than Jasmine took home from i58

Glad this is happening, if not just for the fact that next time someone throws these ideas out we can actually point them to where and why we don't use them.

#13 Valve, TF2 prize money and us in TF2 General Discussion
AvvyIn his words Valve are ready to support us financially when the time is right and we've found the best gamemode that can attract viewership and as many of the casual players as possible while still remaining competitive.

Man, fuck valve. Dangling their support over our head, just out of reach, saying "if you play how we want you to play you can have it, but we're not gonna tell you how that is." This community has spent 9 years trying to make this game those things, seemingly despite valves best efforts most of the time. Its pretty asinine of valve to think that they know better than the hundreds of people who actually play and work to iterate the game.

#4 Laptop to external display- is 120hz possible? in Hardware
Ports: 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, 4-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC/SDXC/SDHC), HDMI, SPDIF, RJ45, audio combo jack

Unless that HDMI is 1.4 or higher you have no port capable of outputting at > 60hz. I had the same issue with my y510p (the older version of what you have) which only had HDMI1.0 and VGA.

#3 Dakota Access Pipeline and You in World Events
Indigo_Companies have falsely assured safety in the past with other pipelines, and between 2012-2013 alone, there have been hundreds of leaks and explosions from pipelines that have been assured to be safe.

I get the worry, especially when (i assume) it's happening close to you, but per unit/mile pipelines are still safer than road or rail transport by a pretty significant margin.
