Virgiljetzthe bottleneck will always be medics (the class is awfully designed / in direct contradiction with how the other combat classes play) , inhouses work by forcing people to medic, if they didn't theyd be just as dead as pughchamp
i think its more because people treat medics like shit in pugs cause the class's mistakes are easier to notice and more impactful than other classes, and as such people dont rlly med unless they have to
I mean ur right but I think the bigger factor is that medic just isn't fun to play for most people even if there is no toxicity. most 6s players primarily play scout/soldier/demoman, and these all have a lot of overlap with each other in playstyle, so scout players will happily play soldier/demo and vice versa.
medic doesn't have the same playstyle overlap so people are much less willing to offclass to medic on average. even in a pug where no one is toxic playing medic still feels like a chore for a good 90% of the player base.
