#275 RGB LAN (GXL) in LAN Discussion

First and foremost, every single person that attended LAN owes a huge thank you to TheFragile. I don't think it is appreciated by the average gamer just how hard he works just to get this beautiful game representation at these events. I cannot imagine a gamer more dedicated, more passionate about this game than him. Nick's only priority seems to be each and every TF2 gamer having maximum possible fun.

As an example, at the captain's meeting, right as we were about to head to our seats, Nick said, almost more to himself: "With this number of teams we are at $550 prizepool and I promised you guys $600 so I will throw in the rest". Who does that? That isn't his responsibility.

In addition, after my team got eliminated basically as quickly as it was possible to be eliminated, Nick went up to Kevinispwn and said "I want to do something for the teams that got eliminated first, stick around and I'll figure something out". Now I wasn't disappointed in our early elimination and I wanted to go hang out and drink so we never found out what that activity was, but just the fact that he was concerned about the individual fun that some shit team had at his LAN means a lot to me.

Nick, you are the best of us and we don't deserve you. Thank you for everything you do for the community. I feel as if you don't get it enough but know that we recognize the sacrifices and energy you put into this game and love you for it.

Stochastic: for being the same person online and IRL. For the excellent food recommendations and the even better conversations. This was our first meeting, but it cannot be our last.

Gandalf/Gandalf's Friend/June: for riding with me and being good friends.

Goldfish for letting me into his chill hangout and graciously sharing his alcohol.

Everyone that came to the zoo, we need to hang out more as a community like that.

The entire sparkle gang crowd for letting me join into your group.

Spaceghostcoffee for hanging out. Spaceghostcoffee's mom for giving him boatloads of sass and being a cool gamer mom.

Kevin is pwn for making it to LAN. To me it isnt really a LAN without him. The 5am cheesesteaks were a mistake, but I was glad we went anyway. The best memories I have at LANs are the times I spend hanging out with you. Thank you for putting up with my shenanigans.

To everyone who came out: You guys are the lifeblood of this community, and its best humans. Were it not for our consistently great turnout, these events would just stop happening for the TF2 community. So keep coming out, reach out for rides or for a place to crash to make it possible. Together we tend to make sure everyone is taken care of.

I have become terrified of missing any LANs as the years drag on and our small community keeps getting smaller. One of these LANs will be our last and that thought crushes me. So don't delay, don't dodge, don't risk missing out on everything this community has to offer.

Also still looking to play medic for a team.

SinetidrshdwpuppetI think an appropriate way to handle the question of allowing businesses to refuse to serve people is: if the business provides a non-essential service (so no fire departments, ambulance services, doctor's offices, hospitals etc) and receives no federal funding, discrimination is legally allowed, but then they don't get to be upset when people protest and pressure a business financially into rescinding their decision or getting shut down.
is it really fair to pressure them to shut down their stores because they refused service to one customer?

I meant the social and economic pressure that comes from interested groups. We vote with our dollars and to think otherwise is really naive. Almost all the time we vote on stuff like healthy vs unhealthy food, fashion styles, brand popularity etc. But occasionally we get the opportunity to vote on the moral righteousness of a business that makes no apologies for its views.

FWIW, I am a flaming homosexual but I love me some Chick Fil A and did not join in on the protesting. However, that sort of mass virtue signaling is a really good way of getting people to fall into the ongoing social changes (hopefully for the better). If we make it clear that businesses that wont serve a gay couple aren't going to be getting very much business, that sort of behaviour will decline because businesses are businesses and they need to make money.

So is it fair that a store in northern Indiana had to shut down after refusing service to a gay couple? Yes. That is how we as a society signal our virtues to those who do not follow along with the contemporary zeitgeist.

Maxi-drshdwpuppetI have a spare i5, it's not great but it runs tf2 at 120hz
Screen included?

Sounds promising, as long as I'm guaranteed more than 2 games :^)

I have no part in planning but yeah I've got monitors.

Arranged cover for work. LFT medic/soldier.

Rides provided from Indianapolis along the i70 corridor. If you can get to Indy, you can get to LAN.

Maxi-DreamboatShame, but Maxi hype? I might have to come out.
Yeah I'd need a confirmed team & pc/rental first, not coming just to spec.

can probably bring sponsorship as well

#2 the source mod of the server change map in Q/A Help

well first of all the plugin is running like it is supposed to so an error log wont help.

In your addons/sourcemod/plugins folder move nextmap.smx to the disabled folder. Changelevel.

Congrats.
