I think the rule has always been one season of open and I don't think that should change.
IsoThe problem with paywalled "advanced lobbies" is that if they're empty on release day then they'll probably remain empty forever.
One way to avoid this pitfall is by giving free advanced lobby access to active players in Invite/IM/ETF2L Prem/HL Plat. This gives everyone else an incentive to donate so they can play lobbies with these top players.
Doing that also gives you a much better advertising angle since a lot of people who follow popular streamers would gladly pay a dollar to play with them, as opposed to paying money for an empty service.
For sure no top player will ever pay money to play 'Advanced Lobbies' over PUGs

Most basic server providers don't allow for the adjustment of command-line parameters, I thought.
Typically, if you're even ABLE to set up 128 tick on your server, you have enough control over it that it shouldn't be a problem to do so.
I think most people are able to put things in addons folders though right?
