BeaterIt really is interesting how the amount of effort that you put into a video has almost no bearing on whether or not it will be successful. There's a reason why there are so many garbage channels out there that just follow the same tired, low effort formula that they know work (reaction channels are obvious examples of this). Clearly that isn't the route Ster wants to take his channel since making good content is more important to him than success. Good for him I say!

yeah i think a huge problem is that yt isn't setup well for super smart creative people to put a ton of time into a thoughtful entertaining video it's meant to churn out the same low effort shit over and over to keep ad buys rollin in. I feel like every youtuber i follow has had to take a break from the site for this exact reason

Failw1zardIn my opinion, don't tip. The organizations that highly encourage tipping will lose their good staff if enough people don't tip, and wages don't rise to replace them. It is sadly on the consumer to force owners to price their menus correctly, and pay their staff fairly. Generally speaking, this amounts to shopping locally, no large chains.

if you're going to take a moral stance against the tipping industry the solution would be dont go out to eat and give the owners more profit from the system. they dont give a fuck if you tip if they keep making money. in the long term your single actions won't have any impact so you might as well not fuck your server over

CAN TF2 BE AN ESPORTS?
The best teams in the world in other games pass the crown to others multiple times, such as Astralis from csgo, G2 from League of Legends, Shanghai dragons from Overwatch, etc. We are all aware of the stagnation that is present in the top level. It is the same stagnation that keeps this game from being a true “eSports”. I partly disagree with those who believe tf2 cannot be an eSports. We can at least reach the level of Smash Bros Melee, a game even older than tf2 and pretty much never updated but retains a healthy competitive player count. Obviously, it’s unfair to draw comparisons between Melee and tf2, the former is an offline game, and the latter is 99% online, but our community can benefit from adopting a mindset like those of League of Legends, Valorant, and other eSports titles. Playing a competitive game is all about balance and mindset first. Know your goals and resources, form a circle of gamers and friends you can trust and back you up. Nobody will threaten you if you are not alone. Ultimately, because of reasons beyond our control (lack of updates, marketing, competitive playerbase, sponsors) we are not an eSport and will never be, but we should follow the footsteps of one for the betterment of the community.

this kinda ignores it being way harder to put on tournaments for teams with 6 people than it is for single player tournaments. you can put up a 15k prize pool in melee and give the best player 7.5 grand and reach out to a few people to provide travel accommodations. that's just way more expensive to do with 6 times the people and im pretty sure the logistics around this have kept any team based esport from flourishing without dev help

Tino_SpaceCadetYou can complain all you want. The bottom line is that RGL has the entire NA 6's community by the balls because no other viable leagues exist.
Going to be a massive prick right now, so -frags to the right please, but the community chose this. We had options in the works and I spent how much time not only trying to make something better for the community, but also specifically saying that RGL was not what you guys needed or wanted. As far as I am concerned people can't complain, the choice was made even with all of the warnings and issues that people talked about. You made your own bed, now you get to sleep in it.

ok if u wanna go that route how did 1 derek sigafoo set up a functioning league in like half the time it took everyone else in the tf2 community

ig this does ignore that he didnt create a new league from scratch and just integrated 6s into his exiting platform actually. pretty shit point once i thought about it for a few minutes. whoops
