Daggerwe really making whitelists based on public polls?
Starkiei dont have a problem with any of the changes here but 37% of the vote shouldn't get an item unbanned imo
Especially given that it's a public poll, such a small difference definitely should not be considered statistically significant. Seems that this was not very well thought out, and as much as I agree with banning the cow mangler (shit is just dumb and doesn't add anything interesting to the game), I feel like if this is actually to be the 'global whitelist' there should be proper meetings and discussions with the different league admins and players from different regions.
The fact that any decisions are being made on the basis of some random public poll that was put out a few weeks ago is kind of troubling. Of course getting feedback from the community and gauging public opinion is good but directly translating it into decisions is very silly imo.
It's hard to say if the specific subset of people who happened to see the thread and respond to the poll is indicative of the more general consensus in the community, for all we know a bunch of pubbers on reddit found the thread and voted to unban everything because 'mewant epic unluck 8D'.
As awfully run as the invite meetings have been in the past, I think it definitely makes sense to prioritize the effects of these weapon bans/unbans with respect to the highest level of play, rather than simply going with public opinion and ending up with a bunch of open players jumping on a bandwagon without even having tested it themselves and realizing the effect it will have. More importantly, it's almost a completely different game at lower levels because play is so disorganized and chaotic, so it doesn't really make sense to try and balance around that.
I also find it laughable that the direct hit is even on the table like who in their right mind wants to ban that gun it's literally so terrible especially in the current meta of scouts playing around heals and being buffed all the time.
