Soldering and learning more about electronics is fun, but it can be costly.
Twiggybuilding keyboard? How much low level building are we talking about?
Pretty much trying to get into weird sized or mega custom boards is expensive, and group buys and a pain and expensive. It's super fun but I really wish I had saved the money for something else. But what I learned from the building has helped me in my job sometimes.

CrimeSceneSome of my friends just have key caps displayed, not even on a keyboard
I know people irl that have spent so much money on some that are just displayed in plastic cases on their desk. I wouldn't get into keyboards because of that rabbit hole it creates.
