i dont think matchmaking will be implemented with the ability to queue for a certain class. I know there's the whole thing with the mm hud thing, but without some sort of official guide to how 6s is played i feel like valve'll turn away a lot of the players by having just the generalist classes being available to pick.

The team size is six players, so the lower ranks will probably be full of people who stubbornly want to play their main class. this will work for them to a certain extent, but then people who actually want to rank up will gravitate towards playing the better classes. this'll have the effect of the higher ranks being more serious and formalized while the lower ranks are either full of engineer mains or people dicking around. To me, this is the best possible system for matchmaking that doesn't alienate any of TF2's players.

plus there's the whole "JUST ONE RANK ACROSS ALL CLASSES" which could mean there's no queue for classes at all
