ExzeCould just be that your GPU is on its last legs... Do you know what GPU it is, or how old it is? One last thing you can try is making sure your graphics drivers are updated, but that shouldn't cause the issues you're having
If it is your GPU, and you're not really looking to get a new computer just yet, it might be worth investing in a new GPU, since those can be easily transferred to a new computer if/when you get one. For TF2, a neat little card is the GTX 1050. Not too expensive, and easily powerful enough to run all games out rn on at least low/medium settings. TF2 isn't a graphically intensive game, so a 1050 would be more than enough. Maybe look at a 1050 Ti if you've got the money. A little more in price, but a decent upgrade from the standard 1050
Yes it's definitely the GPU, I had no more errors since I started using the integrated graphics a couple days ago. I was using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660, pretty old but it worked fine until now.
Thanks for all the suggestions :), actually I was thinking of upgrading CPU and MOBO (maybe even RAM if I had enough money); so I'll probably wait a little bit before buying a new GPU.
mastercomshud_reloadscheme shouldn't fix the invisible players bug. The workaround command for fixing invisible players is record fix;stop
Ye I know, the full bind is 'hud_reloadscheme; snd_restart; record demo; stop'.
Well I ran both mdsched and memtest and RAM is fine. All the CPU speeds and temps were also fine so I focus the testing on the GPU.
I disconnected and used the integrated graphics for a bit and I had no further problems so it's definitely a graphic card problem. Still, don't know if its an inside GPU hardware problem or maybe a driver issue. Any thoughts?
4Head Hey Europoops, who built the statue of liberty? NOT YOU EleGiggle STAY POOR EU EleGiggle
maxxyfeels like you have something bound to hud_reloadscheme : freezes the game everytime you use it
Hmmm ye I noticed that the problem happened at the same time I pressed the hud_reloadscheme bind (I use it for getting rid of the annoying invisible players bug lol); I'll test to see if it happens every time I pressed it or not.
ExzeKeep an eye on your cpu speeds, temps, and usage, as well as your gpu speed, temps, and usage. If this happens outside of TF2, then it seems like a hardware issue. If it's slowing your computer down once it's stopped then it sounds like either the cpu or gpu are suddenly running at a lower speed (When I was testing OCing my old graphics card, it often crashed, and the speeds went down to like 10% what they should have been), or it could be that the ram is faulty or getting clogged up with something.
To find out if your RAM is full, you can check in task manager, under the processes tab. Also, to make sure the RAM is running fine, follow these steps. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff700221.aspx
Just saying again, it sounds like a hardware issue, but nothing too serious. Keep an eye on your temps and stuff
I will keep an eye out on them, althought I don't have anything OC.
Hiya.
So, I've been having issues with my pc for the last two or three days. Sometimes, the images and sound on the screen stop for a couple of seconds and the pc is unresponsive (sorry about the shitty explanation, here's a video with the issue: https://youtu.be/F-pPRr2vPQU).
This happens usually while playing TF2 but it can also happen randomly while using the computer normally (although much less frequently). Also, after the problem happens the computer starts to work extremely slow and I usually have to do a hard reset. It is worth mentioning that in the event viewer theres a shitload of nvlddmkm errors at the same time.
All the drivers are up to date, and rolling them back to the last ones solved nothing. Also I run antivirus every week. No heat problems either, every component works fine AFAIK.

some specs (non OC):
win 7
i7 3770 3.4 GHz
GTX 660
8 GB RAM

Help pls :/
dunno if its just me, but when i preview the dueling banjo taunt in the store the sound glitches out and keeps playing forever lol

AFAIK they always upload the videos privately and then make them public when the update really hits.
Also, holy hype.
