Honestly I would say forget about pugs for learning the basics, they are ok for a while if your level is high enough but they are not the best representation of a real, actual TF2 match (most of the time games are unbalanced because of difference in skill, there is a big focus on individual DM instead of teamwork, etc...)

The best way to learn and improve in the game is just finding a team of like-minded, similar skill level players who are commited and willing to learn and improve, be it doing demo reviews, map talks or just scrimming together multiple times a week. It'll may suck at first if your skill is not enough but with sufficient time and dedication you'll notice how the team improves and the game becomes more fun and easy to play. Of course it's not always that simple to find a perfect team, especially in this silly community, but for the little I've seen on your streams you seem like a chill and dedicated player (also brit) so it shouldn't be that hard with a little bit of luck.

I swear TF2 is the most entertaining game of all time, there is some weird shit happening every couple months lmao

without all the amazing voice actors that TF2 has had, this silly videogame would have never have such an unique feel to it, they manage to bring the characters to life with all their quirks and eccentricities captured on every one of the hundreds of voice lines; proof of that it's that we never get tired of hearing them during all those years, and we will probably never will.

To be completely honest there are so many different weapons, mechanics and general bullshit in this game that i'm not surprised about some random videogame journalist being utterly confused and lost while playing it. Even if you have some previous experience with similar games, it takes a while to learn and getting used to even the casual gamemode (default settings don't help to make it easier too), let alone competitive. I remember playing TF2 for like maybe 2000+ hours before learning that a comp scene existed and how did it work lol

Dude i just wanna play this game and improve but lately it has been so difficult; like, i know im not the best at all obviously but im willing to learn and i think there is plenty of room for me to improve but its so fucking hard when you cant play the game consistently on a daily basis.

Im a no namer so im barely picked on pugchamp, tf2center is trash, faceit is dead and i dont really enjoy dm / mge / jumping that much. Also, seems like every team i trial for ends up either picking up someone else, dying or being just awful...

Hopefully this is just temporary and everything will get better once i find a good team that wants to scrim frequently, but until then this is such a bummer situation tbh.
