Sort of an off-topic question, but how often do you guys change huds? Seems like people dl customized huds all the time here and I am curious if you guys are constantly changing huds or adjusting stuff on yours. I change huds probably once every six months. Just curious if that's average.

LinKr_omnireddon the topic of loading screens, how exactly do i get the gif.vtf to play when a map is loading?
i have the file, i just don't know what to do to implement it into my hud

Yeah, an actual tutorial from someone would be awesome. I tried it and the texture just came up black for me so I obviously fucked up somewhere.
i looked into the vmt of collycat's gif in his hud and i found this

EDIT:The flag of the gif itself is eight bit alpha, format is dxt5,10 mipmaps,width is 512, height is 256

So, in VTFEdit, you import every single frame of the gif before converting to .vtf? Can you even import more than one image at a time?

Has SourceSDK been updated for steampipe? Because I've made captions successfully before, but now when I installed the SDK, it was installed in common/SourceSDK rather than myname/SourceSDK. And when I drag the closecaptions.txt onto captionscompiler.exe either from old resource location (manually created folders) or new one the compiler says it can't find user info and crashes. I tried moving the SourceSDK to yourname/SourceSDK, but it still didn't work. Any ideas?

pwny_MatoksI love it all but I have a question, how would I go about rotating the 3d model in the bottom left myself? I hate how it's facing 100% right.
Open up HUDPlayerClass, and scroll down to classmodelpanel and adjust different values for their rotations.

If you get confused with how to rotate it, watch rays' latest video about it.

La_maisonI´m probably talking out of my arse here but are you sure the aliasing is a result of the import? Have you tried blurring it in a painting program before the import? There is some stuff about sharpen/unsharpening in the advanced tab of the import menu, maybe you could try fiddling around with that?

Also, nice to see someone playing around with the bxhud menu :)

Oh, wasn't playing around with BXHUD, just using my tftv hud as a testing ground. and thanks, i'll try unsharpening it.

This is just a test, but is there a way to make the edges smooth? I am guessing that it depends on how I make the original image before converting to .vtf, but maybe there is a setting in VTFEdit? Also, is there a way to import vector images into VTFEdit? I tried EPS, SWG, and PDF and VTFEdit didn't recognize any of them.

How do you guys using custom vtfs keep your image edges so smooth?

I couldn't connect starting Sunday night. Then all of yesterday I couldn't Changed my DNS server to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 (google dns) and it fixed. Still can't connect on phone (from wifi or 4G) even after changing dns servers though, so idk.
