OSX uses openGL, not directX. If you want to change your dxlevel you'll need something like wine or a similar program.

SmytherOK there's still these new green particles spewing from explosions, and spooky Halloween SFX seemingly randomly through my scrims. Can those be turned off too?
If you're referring to the souls, I'm pretty sure there was a vpk from last year's event that disabled them client side but I can't find it now (although that might not work for you as it didn't work in sv_pure).

.exe files will never work in OSX, you'd have to get something like bootcamp or WINE to run it

Question On ConVar formats

DaMeiNHmm. Quick question.
Does anyone know of any TF2 convars that have a variable that isn't a number?
Like in Comanglia's he has:
con_filter_text_out particle
Now I don't know what ^ does but I don't think its anything crazy important/FPS related (I could be totally wrong)
But are there any really big convars that people care about that do have text instead of numbers for variables?
Do binds count?
Also that command you mentioned filters out stuff you don't want in the console (in case of spam). I can't remember if there's any FPS gain by doing that though.
