At your level, working on your positioning as medic is the most important aspect of the game you should focus your time.
It is also the easiest and best thing to observe when doing a demo review of yourself. Instead of watching who you are healing over and over, watch the bad habbits you have with your positions and learn accordingly.
Effective team healing is more about not having brain dead teammates than "healing the right person" in most cases. Rarely, if ever, should you be chasing teammates to get buffs or heal up. Having new players know how to rotate heals and stay buffed for team fights is a skill learned over time and with experience. I believe most medic mains blame themselves when thier teammates fail to know how to rotate heals. It is easy to blame the medic.
Back to the main point. Positioning. Staying alive is obviously your main goal but it is equally important to know when to commit to a fight and when to stay safe so you can bail out if things are going poorly. (team comms are important here)
Having the ability to "feel out" a team fight and make the correct decision (stay in or get out) is arguably the most important medic trait to learn. Having the correct positioning is the first step in that process so demo review and start building experience from there.

Reckoner is taking the place of Granary in this rotation and hopefully it can live up to Granary's past exciting matches. I know most people frown upon Granary for one reason or another but the fact is it has never been a boring map to watch during any i-Series in the past.
Infact, there have been a large number of matches on Granary that have been way more exciting to watch than any other map when the best teams in the world play at I-Series.
I am blind
I view a donation made to a TF2 team going to LAN as a purchase. I am paying so I can enjoy watching these matches and rooting for my team to win. It is really no different than buying a ticket for a movie or a concert.
dangomustardoverlordevery major team can easily afford oneAnd what about all the teams that can't afford one (or one worth having)? Why should lower end teams have to play major qualifiers 5 vs 5.5? It just makes it easier for top teams to stay at the top, especially when they can afford 5 fraggers and not worry about the IGL being good enough at fragging.
Every time I read another opinion on this matter I always come back to Dango's quote because it really hits the heart of the issue.
Competition in any sport or game is about a level playing field for all players involved. IMO, coaching in its current form does cause an imbalance at the highest levels. In no way should coaching be removed but rules need to be in place to keep the "playing field" inside the game completely even.
Naturally all the current Pros are going to have a problem with this change. Nobody likes to break a system that has been successful but sometimes it is necessary.
marmadukeGRYLLSCoaches are fine, but they should be limited to talking to their team during half time, pauses, and freeze time only. They should have to play the game for themselves.
Coach should be used to pick out weaknesses from the other teams setups/strats and call plays around that, not micro their team all round.
100% agree
If competitive gaming is going to advance into a real true sport, there needs to be regulation on coaching for the pro teams just like in every sport. With the correct rules in place to govern coaching, it will likely turn into being more effective than how coaching has existed thus far.
