the301stspartan What dany did has to look like obvious witch magic to any of these dothraki who have never seen a dragon or heard the first thing about targaryen blood. All they see is a woman with weird looking hair who isn't hurt by fire and is apparently trying to burn their holy city down.

I believe the Dothraki know exactly what Dragons are and have seen/experienced them in the past. Before the Targaryen's went to war and took control over the 7 kingdoms, they went East and assisted the "Free Cities" in becoming independent of the 7 kingdoms. After that, the Targaryens returned to westeros and conquered the 7 kingdoms.

In the end, nobody has any real way of knowing where the show is going to turn. GRRM has his own way of fooling everyone into thinking one thing then doing another. We could both be wrong when things come full circle.

#61 GoT season 6 in Music, Movies, TV

She was unable to sail to westeros when Drogo was alive because they had no money or ships. It was frequently talked about in the first season along with the Dothraki fear of sailing.

The situation now is much different. She has a huge city under her control and the money to buy ships from another Free City like Braavos, Pentos or Volantis. I feel the show will go to Volantis at some point, it has been talked about for several seasons but nothing more.

I don't think you should get hung up on the word "submission" so much. Warrior cultures don't submit to anything but they do voluntarily follow a strong and powerful leader to keep their own honor. That is how I view the Dothraki and one big difference in your theory I see is that a "witch" doing blood or fire magic would not be accepted by the Dothraki and therefore they would never follow her even if she performed the same thing Daenerys did at the end of the episode and kill all the Khals.

Daenerys did not perform any "magic" or "witch-like" rituals or spells. She is simply an incredibly strong individual because of her connection to Dragons. It is logical to assume the Dothraki see her like that and will follow her because of her strength.

the301stspartanActually another thing just came to mind about the fire scene:
Show Content
Since when do the dothraki worship dragons, or dragon-people? Dragons eat horses. And the dothraki hate magic! Why don't they immediately declare dany a witch and have a horse stomp on her head? If dany knew the dothraki would submit to her just by displaying her fire resistance, why did she ever leave them in the first place? She had already discovered her powers when she was still with the horde, so why didn't she just take over then? After drogo died, she could've done this whole show and she would've had her army. She could've taken her dragons to the dothraki at any time to get a huge army and would've probably had enough men to deal with the sons of the harpy easily.
Is there any explanation for why this didn't happen? What happens in the books?

A few things:

I don't see anywhere that the Dothraki "worship dragons or dragon-people". Like mostly any warrior culture, the Dothraki respect strength above all else. Walking through an inferno after killing all the living Karl's is about as powerful a sign of strength as you can get. Even more powerful will be her riding a fully grown dragon (or 3) into battle.

As far as the Army, the Dothraki are a nomadic people so they will not thrive in a city environment. She would not have asked or taken the Dothraki army to Astapor, Yunkai or Meereen had Drogo lived. The Dothraki are, in essence, one of the best types of armies you can recruit to conquer massive stretches of land. They travel long distances and fight as a horde with numbers. They resemble the Mongolians of Asia and how unstoppable they were in that form of combat. If you put an army like that in a city like Kings Landing, they will never survive.

#87 Thoughts on Overwatch? in Other Games
wacOne huge thing I do love about blizzard though is how good of a world they built with all of the characters, the lore for all of them is spot on and very entertaining to read.

Used to be that way with WoW lore as well, until Blizzard destroyed it.

#79 Thoughts on Overwatch? in Other Games

I will likely purchase the game but I have my doubts about the competitive scene. I think people view "competitive" in different ways. I like to think of competitive as player/team having more skill and being better than the other player/team. With all the different classes and abilities in OW, I can see players not really working on being better, you just switch classes/abilities and "Rock/Paper/Scissor/Lizard/Spock" the problems you face. Then again, I am so old that my thinking my not apply anymore.

That said, I enjoyed playing the game very much but I suspect a lot of that was because OW is new and fresh after so many years of TF. All these abilities and eye candy can make for a very fun casual experience.

#42 Overwatch Open Beta Live in Other Games

The biggest single problem I have with OW is all the clutter on my screen during every single fight. The overwhelming amount of eye candy is what needs the most fixing.

I can't say OW is not enjoyable on some level. Running around with all the eye candy and using all the different abilities is fun. OW might be a great game to just kick back with friends and fool around but from what I have seen / experienced so far, I am not going to spend time playing this on a competitive level for 1 reason.

IMO Aiming, speed and movement are the key things you practice and improve with FPS games to get more individual skill over other players. In OW, those main factors are mostly all replaced by some gimmick "ability" for each class. Sure you can learn to use that gimmick better and pass it off as skill but I just don't see it.
