#426 ESEA-IM S22 Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
trippawhymeoI guarantee no one would be freaking out about fuzion being #1 if he had been a member of the 6's community for longer. Since he comes from hl and is relatively new to 6's though everyone just automatically thinks "there's no way he can be nearly as good as these players that have been around for a long time!"
it's more like i haven't seen anything from fuzion that suggests he should be #1, i haven't been paying much attention to other teams though so all i have to judge him by is my own team's experience playing against him

IMO rankings are pretty stupid to begin with but they are a fun way to get ppl talking about specific players/teams so it can have a good side.

Having played with and against fusion, the only thing that is clear is that he can easily keep pace with any of the scouts in the IM division and isn't seriously outclassed by anyone on that list.

mustardoverlordI love how everyone digs my invite rankings and then freaks out over the IM ones

it's almost as if IM players are petty, stupid, and biased

PSA: if any of you messaging me on steam were right, saam's team would literally 5-0 every single game for the entirety of the season

Any random person can do accurate Invite rankings because it is pretty straight forward who the top players are from season to season, unlike IM rankings, (see above), that are almost always a total popularity contest for the writer and largely innacurate.

Its about time to start all over again with Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow and then go right through the entire series because once you start its not possible to stop.

Fuck the movie, it did no credit to the book in any way.

#71 Euro 2016 - France - Discussion Thread in Off Topic

Hopefully some of you EU guys can help me understand a few questions.

1-- When it comes to FIFA and the World Cup, how do the rankings they post factor in to who qualifies for the Cup?

2-- The FIFA rankings seem to be unfair. What I mean by that is if you look at the top 100, the majority of teams are in the EU and after that the Americas have a decent number. Beyond that, you need to go to 32nd to find the first African Confederation team and 39th to find the first Asian Confederation team.

I looked deeper at the schedules for some of these teams for 2015 and 2016. I found that most teams simply play teams in their own Confederations. Since EU has, by far, the most high ranking teams, doesn't that make the rankings biased towards EU teams keeping a higher rank? I mean, how can the Asian or African teams break into the top 10 or top 5 unless they play or beat teams around that rank?

quintoshSpaceCadetYou can find the source for a country collecting 400+ million guns?bad reading comprehension? i said counties, not the whole nation

My mistake for misreading a word, no need to get your cunt hairs in a bunch.

Are you really trying to compare a few counties to the country as a whole? I would love to see your numbers in either case.

The last estimate was that there were around 400 million guns in one form or another in this country. To be more detailed, that is about 400 million guns that we "know about". Meaning we can track the gun in one form or another or have tracked the gun in the past at one time be it a construction date, shipping date, purchase date, etc.

That 400 million number does not include any guns that have entered this country illegally or say guns that were passed on from father to son for generations and are not registered in any form. Nobody knows the real total of how many actual guns are in America.

That said, I don't see how any logical person can just say things like "every person turn in their guns" or "ban guns". Some have even suggested that the government should go house to house and collect guns from residents.

Collecting 400 to 500 million guns from all over the country would end up being a more time consuming and epic undertaking than building the Pyramids of Egypt. Gun Collection, the 8th wonder of the World in America.

Matches today are probably not going to be that exciting. MEX and VEN are already in and both will have really difficult first round match-ups with either ARG/CHILE.

USA is in a decently good position. A first round matchup with Ecuador should be a victory. Second round will be really difficult to say the least.

While I am glad Australia has not been targeted, I think it is total ignorance on this guys part to try and compare Australia and America with such a blanket statement. Both countries have 2 completely seperate histories and cultures. Both countries were founded on different principles and beliefs. Like it or not, the Right to Bear Arms runs very deep in this country and a whole lot of us like it that way. There is no way your laws will work in this country but I am very glad they work for you down under.

BarryChuckleSpaceCadetAs people walk around inside a gunshow, some of them are carrying Rifles on their shoulders, or other types of guns, with price tags attached for all to see as they go from table to table. Selling the Rifle itself is not illegal in this fashion but once you express interest in the gun, he may ask you if you want to buy more. Then you go to his truck and he opens up his arsenal for sale. This quickly turns illegal but nobody asks any questions because guns are all over and its a fucking gunshow right?

There you have it, you just bought your first AK-47 and nobody at all knows you have it.

Holy dooley that's ridiculous. What I don't understand is: almost everyone I've talked with, even people like you who are pro-gun ownership, seem to agree that it needs to be HEAVILY controlled with background checks and getting rid of dumb loopholes like this. So the question is: why aren't these regulations enforced? Why is it almost effortless to buy an automatic weapon in some states? If both sides agree somethign needs to be done, why isn't it being done :/

First, you can't buy an automatic weapon legally at all. They are 100% illegal and I wish the news would stop referring to these guns as Automatic Assault Rifles.

Second part as to why the laws can't do anything about it in a nutshell is because the Anti-Gun and Pro-Gun people do not want to concede any ground on the issue to each other and find common ground. Pro-Gun is scared that any "new anti-gun law" will only be the beginning of an avalanche of further laws that hurt them. Anti-Gun people want to regulate most things that will only hurt responsible gun owners and not have any real impact on illegal sales thus punishing the wrong people in this argument.

toads_tfSpaceCadetstuffyeah I completely agree minus the 'gunshow loophole'. it doesn't exist. if you were to purchase it any different from a regular store at a gun show, that would be against the law, and most people at gun shows wouldn't sell you the gun. And the people who would are essentially dealing illegal arms at that point.

My friend, do you really understand what the gunshow loophole is? Let me give you a scenario I have witnessed happen several times in the past that is 100% legal but shows howw you can purchase a gun without any ID or proof of purchase or record of the sale.
