#2 WinPanel issues in Customization

If you can't figure it out the right way, you can just move the winpanels up in hudlayout and move the rest of the elements back down the same amount in winpanel.res

#10 3d Hud Model Cutting off in Customization

It doesn't make it skinny. It makes the bounding box taller.

Nope, they're both wrong. You can quite simply edit the HudPlayerClass.res file to fix the clipping. Just increase the "tall" value underneath the "classmodelpanel" section in that file.

#9 Weird FPS loss in TF2 General Discussion

Well I have it removed now regardless, no help. Still dips down to <30 frames no matter how many frames I had before.

SovereignStaticVoidHave you tried removing the FPS cap? If I remember correctly, Chris' maxframes has a warning against enabling the FPS cap.Why is the FPS cap on in the first place. Isn't the FPS cap similar to what V-sync does anyways?

I heard it helps with making sure your machine doesn't overheat.

WhiteMagicalHatIn your screenshots your healing beam looks really cool. How can I make mine look like that? Will it
work in sv_pure 2? Does it stop the kritz from having the yellow particles in the beam?
Love the hud, looks absolutely fantastic.

That's from my basic shape healsign pack I made quite some time ago. It does not affect the crit particles.

I have removed it at times, no better.

#1 Weird FPS loss in TF2 General Discussion

I posted this on /r/tf2 2 months ago and never got a response. Maybe the knowledgeable folks at tf.tv can help me.

I used to use Chris' Maxquality config on my computer, which ran it great, I capped my FPS at 120 and it would usually stay there. But then I started getting crashes and I realized it had something to do with the config. So I downgraded to dx9frames and have never crashed again, and my FPS always stays at 120. But a weird thing happens when I'm looking in the general direction of water. My FPS just drops a ton, down to the low 30's, sometimes as low as 13-15. That's unplayable to me, and there are a great many jump maps I do that have water in the level, and it makes them extremely hard to play. Does anyone know what I can do to turn something on or off in terms of the water rendering? It's weird to me how I can have my quality at the maximum possible, then when I downgrade and have a worse water rendering, my FPS drops a ton.

i wish more people modified the chat frame

EDIT: DL

make sure you put basechat.res in the ui folder if you just copy paste this in

Gonna be adding something like this to the next version of my HUD, nice job.

#7 r_shadowrendertotexture in TF2 General Discussion
WaldoIt still works perfectly fine, including on granary. The only difference is that in granary, shadows are much smaller (i.e., the difference between your shadow at noon and at 7 P.M.) after the patch. This makes it less effective on granary than on other maps, but the function still exists fully.

Do I have to have r_shadow enabled for it to function? How little shadow console commands can I enable to get r_shadowrendertotexture to work?

hrOI think only some angles for it on granary... dont quote me on that.

I was just watching Crack Clan's Tips and Tweaks video on YouTube again last night and was interested to see if it still existed. They used Granary for their demonstrations, I wonder if Valve saw that... anyhow, thanks. So it still exists, they just removed some stuff from Granary?

This is probably a really old question by now, but was r_shadowrendertotexture removed at some point? I seem to remember that happening but I don't recall when and I'm not sure if it even did.
