BilbertHow well do 80 Ohm and 250 Ohm headphones work on a desktop motherboard? Specifically, the motherboard has a Realtek ALC892. The datasheet says the output impedance is 200 Ohm. I'm not sure how that number corresponds to actual listening volume.

Bruh just buy a cheap amp and never worry about it again. JDS Atom, Monolith Liquid Spark, and Schiit Heresy are all great budget options that can drive high end headphones easily.

#53 RGL Division Restructure in TF2 General Discussion

Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be Invite and divs 1-6? The div naming scheme is getting a bit convoluted. Also i have to ask why this decision was made in the first place. I haven't heard anyone asking for more divs. Wasn't 6 enough?

Funs_KermitI really like my DT770 Pros that I got at Christmas 2018, I got the 250ohm version and they're a solid pair of headphones. I've always used an external sound card so I don't know how well they sound straight from the mobo, but my current phone was able to drive them enough to a decent volume and they sounded just about as good as at home.
I've been looking around for an answer as to whether phones can drive the 250ohm ones for a while now, and this is the first thing I've read finally lmao
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the dt770s but now it's just choosing the impedance basically

ArieDon't spend any money on DACs and AMPs, on-board audio is so good these days, you're better off just putting the money saved towards beter headphones or ice cream.

Motherboard audio connectors are severely lacking in power for high impedance headphones.

Funs I just meant a *sensible* price

What is sensible to one person will not be sensible to another. I have Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pros @ $599 and many wouldnt consider those sensible but i do. Hell there are a lot of people who wouldnt consider my $150 Audio-Technica ATH-AD900s or $220 Sennheiser HD6XX reasonable. Reasonable is subjective.
Now if you are looking for headphones primarily for gaming in a quiet room at a "reasonable" price i would look at Audio-Technica ATH-AD900X or ATH-AD700X. They have superb imaging at their price point and are very easy to drive.

Petebruh.

If he wants something for around $100 he should say he wants something for around a $100. When you are asking for suggestions on anything you should AT LEAST give a budget.

Out of date. There are better alternatives to a lot of these now.

#7 what if all medic primary's did a bit of healing? in TF2 General Discussion

Crossbow would still be better than needles on most maps if the crossbow didn't heal so this really wouldnt help anything.
