I totally disagree [with the premise of the roamer being weak]; roamer is fine the way it is. It's probably the most wildly versatile role in the game. You have the ability to annihilate holes in an enemy's flank and make plays that people don't expect if you play creatively (read: creatively, not idiotically). It also allows for a great amount of freedom since you're incredibly mobile, and if there needs to be a pick you can either bomb in or go for an unexpected offclass, or you help turtle up and defend the medic.
Also half the reason I like it so much is because spy to mid is the most impossibly gay thing a human being can do.
Like vhalin said once, it's not really a glory class. It does what it needs to.

good guide, don't forget that revolver at close range literally 3-shots medics and has insane amounts of dps and is probably the best non-scattergun/shotgun weapon in the game
USEFUL WATCH FACT: You are invisible basically forever if you crouch walk while invisible with the Cloak and Dagger. Use this to break the shit out of turtles.
