#20 The browser you loved to hate in Off Topic
cinqSo, you, saying you can't understand the hate just proves you are ignorant or stupid.

Thanks for the kind words.

To clarify, I'm talking about the recent versions of IE, not the old versions from years ago.

The hate that IE gets from the average computer user who doesn't know their motherboard from a hole in the ground is what I don't understand. Other than the interface, most of them wouldn't notice the difference between how the browsers function at all. They just hate on it because it's what the "smart" people are doing so they just jump on the bandwagon without knowing the reasons.

#33 thrift stores in Off Topic

I buy most of my clothes online.

Buy 5 pairs of the same pants.

Buy 3 2 packs on plain black t-shirts.

Buy 3 5 packs of underwear.

Then I go to Costco and grab an armfull of socks.

Set for the next 5 years.

#8 The browser you loved to hate in Off Topic

I don't understand all the hate for IE.

Yeah, in the past it had compliance issues with some HTML and CSS code, but now it's pretty much equivalent (for the most part) with other browsers. The speed differences between the browsers are also maybe a fraction of a second in load times. I doubt that's a huge factor.

But for the most part, I don't understand all these browser hipsters that hate on IE for no reason. The people who refuse to use IE no matter what. Most of them spend all their time on Facebook/YouTube, so it's not like they are gaining some magical advantage by using other browsers.

And the people who will not use IE even when on a temporary computer piss me off. If you're going to use a computer at the library, or at school, or whatever, you don't need to fucking download another browser just so you can surf the internet for 5 minutes. I've seen people get into arguments with teachers/librarians over installing other browsers. The teachers ask them not to install shit on the computers, and these dipshits do it anyway because GOD FORBID YOU MIGHT HAVE TO USE IE FOR A FEW MINUTES.

I can understand wanting to have your usual plugins, cookies, etc., so you can easily be automatically signed into whatever website you normally visit, but for the love of god, don't do that shit on a public computer. If you want that experience get a flash drive and install PortableApps and your favorite browser.

tl;dr: Get over it. It works fine for 90% of the shit that you do, and hating on it just makes you look like a douche who is trying to look like he knows computers.

#14 Cure for cancer isn't profitable in Off Topic

It makes sense.

But on the other hand, if one pharmaceutical company finds the cure first, and can somehow get a monopoly on the cure, then that would make even more money. So there's still incentive, even if it is small.

#37 soldier jump scripts in TF2 General Discussion
OdissiusAre you able to c-tap reliably now?

Please share script? :)

http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/1827-shitty-ctap-script-for-shitties

Other people don't like it, and it takes a while to get used to, but it works fine for me.

You just have to get the hang of not crouching until a split second after you've jumped if you want to crouch jump normally.

#34 soldier jump scripts in TF2 General Discussion

I'm usually against jump scripts, however, I seem to be physically unable to get the timing right for c-tapping. I wrote a script that automatically released crouch when I jump to help with that.

It takes a little while to get used to it, but so far I haven't found any real downsides to it. Normal rocket jumping is easy enough, so no scripts needed there.

#15 planetside 2 in Off Topic

I can barely get more than 60fps in it.

It's also kind of overwhelming how useless you are in the game. It always seems to just stalemate at some point with people just spamming from either side of a shield door or something. There's really nothing you can do to be useful at all.

Maybe it will get better with time.

#6 Aiming Problem in Q/A Help

I have the opposite problem. I end up flicking my mouse when I'm about to strafe into someone and end up missing.

I think your issue might be that you aren't used to your sensitivity. At least from person experience, that's what's happened to me in the past. When I start using a new sensitivity I'm not used to, I'm unsure about how it will react when aiming, so I avoid moving it too much. Once I've gotten used to it, then I'll become braver in using it to aim.

Basically, just get used to how aiming feels, and you'll start doing it more often.
