bleghfarecYou do realize getting onto ESL Play means nothing, right? Practically every game under the sun besides TF2 is on the platform.
Isn't that every reason why we should be on ESL Play by now??? If other games deader than us are on ESL Play, surely that qualifies us on to the website.
bleghfarecIf you're expecting prize pools, you're going to be disappointed unless a bunch of you want to fork out some cash for ESL Premium and give them some incentive to put some money forward. If TF2 gets on ESL Play, there will be some cups, but there will be almost no money unless they do an opening cup like FACEIT did with a small prize pool.
I don't think you will be disappointed, Every Go4 cup has a prize pool, and all run weekly and/or monthly.

I understand your point, we have had many failures in this community over the last three years, but FACEIT is predominantly matchmaking and didn't offer real money prizes (I've never played it so don't hold me to that), and Razer Arena crashed and burnt.
As others have said, give it a go. We're talking about the world's largest esports company coming to Team Fortress 2.

Hi all, I have recently been in contact with the ESL Play Community Managers in regards to Team Fortress 2 and ESL. You may remember last year a ESL representative approached the community about what TF2 would like to see in the future.
With 2019 around the corner ESL would like to see another expression of interest from the community, which would be great for the games future and could offer more opportunities.
For ESL to consider the game, they require at least 100 yes votes and 100 comments in the ESL topic. It is also recommended that you follow this template for commenting as they will need to collect some data on locations etc.

I would like to thank everyone who voted, this was a very quick process and showed that we had a lot of support for this. ESL loved how passionate the community is for the game!
Before we can move forward, I am going to cover somethings so the community understands how ESL Play and TF2 will work and to go over the structure.
As the image shows, we will start at the bottom with ESL Open Cups, and progress all the way up to ESL Pro Events! This may seem a bit overwhelming but with community support this is achievable.
For ESL to progress us up to those levels, we need to increase the support for ESL Play. The more participants we have in tournaments, the more we can do such as Leagues and begin to roll in higher prize pools. But the keyword here is community, and ESL will be trying there best to support us and communicate to us regularly.
ESL Play Admins are watching this thread and will answer questions if they desire. Thanks everyone who has helped TF2 in anyway, lets hope we can make something good out of this.

concordeA year ago, Mitch told me to make a concept design for his ultiduo tournament. I did, I hung on to my design, but didn't actually get any updates until it got added into the game. On a TFTV post, he credited me and iridescentFUZZ here, but not on the item's list. Credit where it's due, Mitch. Where's mine? Some would call me salty or a bit petty over a medal design, but when it comes to creative work and design, it's everything.

The CappingTV Summer Brawl Ultiduo Tournament medal.
Hi, no attempts were made to contact me or the tournament organisers after the event. We were simply sent the design and that was that.
That being said, I personally apologise for not getting you added to the contributors list. I have added your name into all the workshop files.
