If TF2 comes to ESL - What would you like to see?

Hello everyone!

I would like to get a broader understanding of what the competitive community wants to see the most, therefore more input is better.

  • Format
  • Rules
  • Other?

Feel free to contact me in the r/tf2 or the teamfortress.tv Discord server(s). If you don't like to share your opinion in public, I'm also responding to DM's as well, @Citru#7026

Best regards,
Citru

tournaments for the top level with money for prizes

in order for the tournaments to be taken seriously with more money, it would make more sense to host them possibly once every couple months or so

Format: 6v6

Rules:

Other:

  • Multiple Divisions (2-3)
  • Correct Map Pool (Ex. http://www.teamfortress.tv/16115/esea-map-rotation , but there are many maps that can be switched in and out for each season)
  • Non-Fully Intrusive Anti-Cheat
  • Some Kind of LAN (As TF2 LAN's have consistently had high attendence)

Thanks again Citru!

if esl comes and makes a league for tf2 what would that mean for the esea leagues given that esea and esl are very close companies or connected (idk)?

-6v6
-Standard 6v6 Class Limits
-A weapon whitelist. There is a Global Whitelist that is used internationally by leagues.
-Multiple Skill Divisions

Essentially, I can promise for sure the NA would definitely play in large quantities, if done correctly. The NA Scene's ESEA league abandoned a lan a while back, making the game feel more distant, and the game just different in general. A lan would definitely attract many players to play with Esl.

Higher support and promotion targeted at newer players to bring in users and enough co-operation with Higher level players for development of the platform.

-Basically what TF2 has going on now since it's been tested and adjusted over a decade. But instead of being purely community driven have it hosted by a large organisation.
-Some good way to introduce new players to the format.
-Prize money, since people will return to this game.
-Advertisement and coverage for the game to get people hyped.

-Oh, LAN as well.

To follow up on this post, specifically on the coverage/advertisement part. Acquire an experienced team of people (I would recommend asking the producers and casters here on tftv) to cast games, as well as graphics artists for this game.

6v6, global whitelist, probably would be good to have weekly cups over a league unless that league would end in LAN Playoffs which is probably not in the cards any time soon.

Also as people said, proper coverage of ESL competitions would be great(even just organizing coverage with the community like tftv/essentials/blackout would be nice)

It might be hard to infer from what people have said, but I think that many are leaning towards a lan.
