#2 Every ESEA TF2 player ever? in TF2 General Discussion

As for who made it - I think, at one time, UGC attempted to get a handle on who all of the IM and higher players were because of the rules at the time limiting invite players per roster and to certain divisions and so on - I remember looking at such a document (because all the admins had access to a google doc for various admin related stuff) that had a pretty substantial list of current/former ESEA players. This could of course be something different.

#51 Worst setup you've ever had in Off Topic

I still have a coupon from Radio Shack for 100$ off 1mb of ram... I guess I'll never get to redeem it now :(

I've never really had a "bad" set up though, except for this short period where Voodoo cards were still being made and nobody knew what to do when they died - I of course got my ballin' outta' control Geforce 2, 32mbs of RAW graphical beastery. There was also all of college where I had my whole thing set up on a dinner table, but it didn't really affect me very much.

It definitely does. The subtle inflections of mike's idiom really make the post.

#18 esea tf2 season 19 in TF2 General Discussion

Nobody knows, but typically LAN is somewhere in the ball-park of 1 month after the last regular season games are played - and the season will start 3ish weeks after LAN, so we're looking at an late April-May start date. Somewhere in that general area.

#7 thoughts on finding scrims in TF2 General Discussion

Sad :( IRC didn't used to be like that. Granted, all bets were off on Friday-Saturday night, but nobody in their right mind scrims on those days. *Maybe* you'd get a collection of silly once a week or so, but you'd just leave and find another or kick them and be done with it. Sad that it's been rendered useless.

#4 thoughts on finding scrims in TF2 General Discussion

The easiest way to do it is just use the IRC to find some scrims, and then if you get some good games, add the leader of that team, or if you have a good match do the same, and just scrim that team over and over and over and over and over and over again. Then get a 2nd or 3rd choice in case that other team does other stuff some nights. I remember when I was first starting out, we scrimmed Rays' team at least twice a week if I remember correctly, we played each other constantly lol.

Eventually your scrim buddies will die or get way better than you, or you'll surpass them, and then you'll need to find new buddies.

#45 axiomatic returns in TF2 General Discussion

I mean if he wants to formalize the complaint then all ya'll will pry end up having to put in POVs to the UGC AC team, at least if stuff works the way it used to - they could also just ignore him completely, that's primarily how I dealt with hackusations when I was doing 6s lol.

You would be surprised at how many people are *convinced* people are cheating - my all time favorite hackusation came from a guy adding me, wanting to complain about a sniper on GPIT. I contacted the guy, the accused was shocked, I looked at the stats - because they had logs... The accused had 3 frags in the whole match. I watched the demo for my own pleasure. He did indeed had 3 frags, they were all body shots, sometimes multiple body shots rail style lol. So I just told the original accusers if they bothered me again with something so flimsy I'd consider it admin abuse lol.

#71 Super Bowl in Off Topic

I mean... a pass play there is viable... at the 1/2 yard line... with 2 of the best runners in the nfl.... but that'd be like a 4th down thing why the hell 2nd down with 30 seconds left? I'm deeply confused. I guess they just went risky as hell and opted to pass because the pats might not expect it - because it makes so little sense... and they got bamboozled.

#19 Valve's hat economist now economics minister in Off Topic

It'll be fine. Syriza will just take on some more debt to blow money into the economy, and since they're lefties they'll have our patented fascination with big fancy projects - so something neato will get built in Greece that will provide gainful employment and long term stability, then once things are good again they'll just have to double down on tax collection to soak up some of that growth money. Or maybe they'll do something really interesting like nationalize something, then I'd get excited.

#101 NFL Playoffs in Off Topic

Sadly smooth and I just quit listening to the game audio and kept the harlem globetrotters theme going throughout the second half of the Colts Vs Patriots - because it was entirely appropriate. Poor Colts - at least that Broncos Vs Colts game helped a large portion of folks here locally consider giving up on their Broncos jerseys :/
