The dependency on teammates to use grenades in coordination with you only really comes into play at a high level, but it's still there.
that's the point. there are no characters that rely on each other like you said, yet if you use team work you will win more often.
it's the same in tf2 and tbh medic and demoman are reliant on their team. they are the strongest classes in the game that are also reliant on their scouts and soldiers listening to them and protecting them.
