Tennessee started a program that did this, and it seriously helped some people I knew about that went to my high school. I think every kid that is willing to put forth the effort to learn should have that opportunity. It's really stupid when certain factors beyond people's control reduce their ability to better themselves.

Good move, America. It's about time.

Kinda like everyone else was when you posted this...

It's my hope to include the games/ communities that led up to tf2 in this doc as well, that's a huge part of the games history.

you got a lot wrong bud <3

edit: stalin, it was a light hearted jab, not a rib or whatever. its all good

Implying that the reason we don't want to change the whitelist is because we're scared of change just shows that you've never tried playing with these unlocks in 6s before. We keep these weapons not because we're traditionalist elitists. Most of us just want to have fun and play a game that we can work towards being good at, and that's not possible to do with weapons like the whip, GRU, gunslinger, short circuit, etc.

The nerd essays are getting pretty annoying. I know I wrote one a few months ago, but all the things you are saying could have been put in a moderately sized paragraph.

edit: fixed parallelism

casual you're the best

The positive reactions are pretty encouraging, thanks guys. I should mention the goal of this project is to be finished by the next GXL, but we aren't sure about that happening or not.

I'm currently building up a team of people to help out with this project. Feel free to add me if you have a lot of free time over the next 3-4 weeks. The first stage of this project is just data mining through a bunch of archived content. Looking for people willing to help timeline the EU, OZ, and AsiaFortress scenes. Also looking for a few other things. If you have a talent in A/V that you'd like to bring to the table, pm on tftv.

you shouldn't have to add me.

shitpost response one-liners with kevinispwn

• if you're not trolling then i'm sorry about whatever disease you have, op

• you probably spent more time writing that post than ever playing/ watching competitive tf2

• pyroclass is devil

• you'd have issues with these weapons if you knew how to play the game

• the meta is less stagnant than the fluid that is accumulating in your head

• to the dumpster we go

tf2 doesnt need to change to stay "alive" or whatever. esea is huge this season despite it being winter, when numbers are typically much lower. we keep the meta the way it is because it's fun and it what we like.

i mean i wasn't surprised when it happened but like who actually does that?

I'm signed up for it to have some fun and to further develop my opinion on the format. I don't actively hate the format like many people in the community, but I do think 6s and highlander are much better. I totally dig how you made an account just to call me out though.

I don't want to start anything, I just want to play video games.

Edit: also I haven't seen a map list anywhere. Has that been decided and I've just missed it? Or will it be announced soon?

Thanks for hosting a tournament! This forum is mainly a 6v6 thing but it's good to see people sponsoring the game regardless of format.

Not many people from these forums will sign up for this because (honestly) A:R in it's current form is pretty bad. This is a format that's probably good for your community to play in but the vast majority of actually competitive players really hate arena respawn.

When will prizes be announced?

They do this for lans and stuff to. It really doesn't mean anything, barely anyone knows that's a thing.
