S'up!

I'm currently looking to play Scout for a mid Open team during S23. I am confident in my ability to understand and play the game at a mid-open level, but I think I still have a little work to do in terms of DM and damage output. I am very willing to take constructive critique, and improve where I can.

Prior Exp:
1 season of Scout in ESEA-O w/ CantBelieveItsNotBuddha (7-9)
4 seasons of Scout in UGC HL (3 mained, 1 subbed)
2 seasons of Scout in UGC 6s (1 mained, 1 subbed)

Schedule:
I am usually available after 8 pm EST on weekdays, and whenever on the weekend. I typically won't scrim past midnight on weeknights though, because I'm old and need sleep.

I would prefer to play 4-5 nights a week. I also really need a team with a set schedule, because I need to know in advance what nights scrims/matches will be.

Oh, cool! Thanks for letting me (and others) know.

I have absolutely no idea if anyone (besides me) is turning out, considering no one has posted here or in the Steam group. If there's still radio silence come Saturday, I may not bother driving out there. Honestly, most people I've talked to have had things come up and can no longer attend.

I still think the DC/MD/VA area is a perfect place to have some sort of LAN tournament for east coasters, so hopefully there can be something here in the future. I'll keep an eye out for opportunities. (It might be possible to have a TF2 LAN at MAGfest 2017, if that's something people would be interested in. I know the ticket prices are kind of off-putting though.)

Well, it exists now, but I don't trust myself to get any of the bio correct so I'm leaving that to someone else.

To kind of back up what bearodactyl said, I think filling out the player pages on comp.tf/wiki would be a really good start towards providing an informative resource about our top players. I took a look at a few of the existing ones, and some are barely more than a sentence or two. It would be really nice to get a little more info on there, even if it's just basic stuff like roster history.

As far as "official" video profiles go, though, I highly doubt Valve would ever get involved in doing something like that. As a community, I think those types of things are still kind of our responsibility.

I'll be there still, and I'll probably be there around noon if anyone wants to plan around that. If we get a decent group, I'm thinking some gaming and then dinner nearby later?

As a teen, I once attempted to pick up a horse shoe off of an anvil because I wanted to see how heavy it was. The stupid part was that I had literally just watched it come out of the forge and fade from red-hot. It obviously SEARED my fingers. I don't think I've ever felt something that hot in my entire life. I then somehow managed to escape from the scene before my mother or the farrier (guy who makes horseshoes) could realize what I had done. Then I thankfully found some water to run over the massive blisters forming on my fingertips.

When we were leaving the barn, I finally showed my mom what I had done. She was so overwhelmed at how dumb I was that she turned me around, and made me go tell the farrier so that he could also laugh at my idiocy. I still haven't lived that incident down.

Anyone planning on going to this? It's basically a gaming convention with a BYOC LAN. They're running a few big tournaments (CS:GO, Magic) and some smaller casual ones. Thinking I might make a daytrip to spectate and check out the vendors, since it's relatively close to me. Plus it's always fun to go out and hang with some gamers!

Thanks for trying to get a full-blown LAN set up, hopefully it will work out at some point in the future.

I'm still totally on-board for meeting up and hanging out with some fellow gamers!

I'm about halfway through The Great Gatsby at the moment. After that, I'm going to read The String of Pearls, which is the original story of Sweeney Todd (before the musical was a thing). Really looking forward to that.

I also have a massive backlog of random fantasy/science fiction that I need to get to at some point...
