#94 ETF2L bans wall bugs in TF2 General Discussion didnt need to wallbug up there on product, is standing up there normally prohibited as well?
is it just the fact you cant get shot?
are other map exploits where you can hide really high up banned too?

It's because a player cannot be damaged unless if someone goes all the way near the grass with the mid health pack to kill the soldier/demoman high up in the air due to the invisible wall blocking all the damage across from mid point.

If a player is just high up in the air only then that's allowed and fine, only now so far we're aware of how the Product spot can be exploited.

#78 ETF2L bans wall bugs in TF2 General Discussion

Hey, before things here get even more out of control, we, as in the whole ETF2L admin team, have been reading through all the feedback from this thread and have come to the conclusion that the wallbug rule is very vague and doesn't explain the intention as to why it was even mentioned on the list with other banned spots.

First of all, we published a list like this in order to be more transparent towards our players regarding what exactly is allowed or not allowed in matches, with the aim to have teams and players report us any new spots in maps that can be exploited. An example of a map where this is the case is Gullywash, where a player is able to shoot through the shutter on last when it's closed or taunt with Equalizer/Escape Plan from elbow to the balcony without dying from it.

The part that caused a lot of controversy was this: "All maps: Sticking to angled walls", which is understandable, as it doesn't give any explanation to what instances it is applied to. Before anything, this has not been allowed on ETF2L for years now, as Muuki already said in post #6 in this thread. Regardless, we will be removing this part from the rules for now and I'll clarify it properly here.

We have decided that it's not fair to prohibit players from using simple game mechanics that can be done without the use of scripts or without the use of 3rd party plugins. With this in mind, due to popular demand, we will allow people to use the game mechanics as they see it fit. However, the use of map only mechanics, such as sticking yourself to an invisible wall, for example on Product, from where you can gain information about what's happening in the map without being able to be damaged by enemies is not allowed.
Any similar map exploit that is reported to us will be discussed within the admin team and we'll try to come to a conclusion about them as quickly as possible.

ETF2L's intention was to make people aware which spots in certain maps are allowed to be used and which are not. The post we published applies to old map spots that players in the past have been warned not to use. The only difference now is that they're of public knowledge now, instead of players having to come to us in order to know if a certain spot is allowed or not.

#5 what is the best way to go about cleaning your pc? in Hardware

As soon as I saw the title of this thread I was going to say that don't ever plan on sticking a vacuum cleaner near your components, only to find the first reply saying to do so.

Just use compressed air like other people have said already, it's very cheap considering for how long a single can could last depending on the amount of cleaning that you need to do.

 is this source wrong then ?

It's not December 2017 anymore and on the homepage of the event they're saying that i62 will be in less than couple months. So yes, a 2 year old source is wrong currently.

gemmon the downside for some godforsaken reason they wanna ignore the careful deliberation made by league admins and top players and go with their own whitelist for the cups

fun highlights include the base jumper, guillotine, pocket pistol and fists of steel

Already loving that Heavy to mid with Steak, Fists of Steel and Natascha combo

#6 Bring back in The Dumpster

Or have this instead which is the official statement from Valve

Although money gambling itself is a slightly different thing when it's not tied to a string of pixels that make a cosmetic in-game item so that would be fine, but personally I'm not sure at all who would bother to go and do something like that anymore now.

#5 help with configs in Q/A Help
Sherwoodfando i need to download the whitelist or does tftrue fetch it automatically upon loading a config?

As long as you have TFTrue installed then you're pretty much set with whitelists, at least both ETF2L and UGC configs use the command "tftrue_whitelist_id" which will fetch the most up to date whitelist automatically from when executing configs, so I would assume that it does the same with ESEA too, but I could be wrong on that part.

#23 ETF2L replaces High with div1 and div2 in TF2 General Discussion
Permzillai heard that the only reason this happened was because of low signups (for high), can anyone confirm?

Interested to know if this was a forced change or an intentional one

It's been on my mind for a good while to do this change as there was a really noticeable difference with how the fixtures are generated towards the end of the season and how teams potentially could unfairly get to playoffs due to default wins or bye weeks (Very unlikely however due to Tiebreaker score giving teams with default wins the worse score), more so than in Mid or Open tier even.
The low signup numbers for High did force out for us to do something different than a regular Swiss System but instead of making them all into 3 High groups that would run in Round Robin, and to make playoffs within those really hard to do, we opted to rather divide the top High and regular High teams apart from each other to give teams an incentive to climb the divisions once again like in the past.

But to answer your question, we would have done this change at some point in this year anyways for sure, but the low signup numbers for High now gave us a chance to release it out earlier.

yak404Does this mean wildcards are back?????

There have been no wildcards for Premiership either in the past 3 years, so neither are there any for Divisions. Instead of wildcards, teams have been requesting admins to allow extensions to their matches but we have wanted to keep this as something that only Premiership teams could do within actual reasons to be unavailable to play. Exceptions may occur, but do not expect anymore to play your Week 2 officials while other teams are playing Week 5 matches.

#15 ETF2L replaces High with div1 and div2 in TF2 General Discussion
YeeHawbloodis just told me we're being moved up and lego down to div 2.

This is also because of Lego requesting for it while also requested to be moved up, we will still go through the rest of the tier change requests later today and publish the finalized tiers as soon as we can.

As for the whole naming thing, we can definitely consider on how changing it up to match the previous regular names. Division 2 could easily be called as High again, but the problem comes around when we would need to come up with a name for Division 1. While it could be called as Top High by some people, it still doesn't fit enough properly in my opinion along with the current names.

There's also the thing where people remember Divisions actually having the round robin system played in them, which reflects well enough for how Prem, Div 1 and Div 2 will be ran in this season now, while Mid and Open are known for having the swiss system played in them.

#13 Let's unify the ruleset in TF2 General Discussion

I'd be happy to change the OP with PugChamp Rules (timelimit 30, windiff 2, windiff min 5), IMHO this thread is more about finding a compromise to abolish ESEA ruleset (mainly the two halves), all in all there's not a huge amount of deviation from ETF2L/OZ ruleset. If you can get the Yanks to agree on playing ETF2L ruleset, I wouldn't mind either.

Windifference 3 would be better in this case so that matches would still continue at 5-3 when the losing team can actually still put up a fight for a golden cap at least, but would already end at 5-2.
