#5 Tf2 server list in Q/A Help

Check the bottom parts where it has the filter stuff. I forget what's exactly down there, but make sure you don't have anything that would filter your server browser to the point of matching zero servers. For example, you might have "cp_betatestidkwhattocallit_rc1" in your map thing, etc.

Also sometimes switching tabs back and forth will help stuff appear, but since it's been a month, not sure.

#20 Different Sens for Hitscan and Projectile in Q/A Help
dr_insaneI think my main question is being misinterpreted. I'm not asking for preferences on sensitivities, I just want to know if keeping my sensitivity/dpi/360 the same for every single class will be beneficial in the long run if I get used to it?

In my opinion, yes.

If you have different sensitivities per class, for example, that's NINE different muscle memory you need to build up. Like at this point, you instinctively know "if I move my mouse this much, my crosshair goes this much" but with different sensitivities, you're going to have to do some extra of "Okay, for Soldier, if I move a little bit, I do a 360...okay for Scout if I move a little bit...I hardly move at all", etc. In your situation of hitscan and projectile, that can also throw you off. "Okay, my Rocket Launcher is out, I can do easy flicks with little movement...okay I took out the Shotgun, now I need to move my mouse A LOT to kill that Scout".

So in short, yes same sensitivity because it's just one thing to get used to. In the end, as long as your sensitivity is COMFORTABLE to you, then go crazy. If you have to really hurt your wrist to play Soldier or whatever, then that is a little concerning. Of course, if you decide to have a different sensitivity per class (or in your case, per hitscan and projectile) it can still work as you will eventually develop the muscle memory for the different types of weapons, but I personally recommend staying with one comfortable sensitivity.

#6 Any configs better than maxframes? in Q/A Help

Not sure, but as the others have suggested, lower your resolution and make your dxlevel 81.

#67 TF2 Update just hit in TF2 General Discussion

I am super happy about the Medic updates. I think people will definitely consider the Crossbow now and being able to see the ammo clip thing for heal targets is awesome. I remember seeing that in MvM and was like "why can't this be default?"

#26 Halloween in Off Topic

In my opinion, I guess high school years should be the limit on trick-or-treating lol. It'd be a little awkward seeing an adult do it...
Anyways, personally I'm not doing anything this year and I doubt I'll be giving out candy.

It's all preference. It's really all based on muscle memory.

#29 Competitive Resolution? in Customization

IMO, if you get high FPS already, go crazy with the resolution. However, if you're FPS lagging then I'd say notch it down. I personally just did it and wow I'm getting so much more FPS and everything feels a lot smoother. But if my native resolution already had 60+ FPS, I'd stay with it.

All in all, I'd say it's preference if FPS isn't a concern. It kinda feels like you lose a bit of FOV, but it's not noticeable IMO.

#4 Medic beam not showing in Q/A Help
hanbroloIt'd be nice if you posted the fix here for anyone else who might have the problem + for potential future googlers.

Not sure about Dx9 having issues about the beam, but for Dx8 users, having the "display marker on heal target" or whatever in the advanced options turned on will remove the beam. So disabling that will get the beam back.

#38 The great Gatsby in Off Topic
SocialistFishAtrocityI skimmed through and since it looks like no one answered yet, I believe she was a friend. In terms of story, she's not a MAJOR character. In terms of literary analysis, she's important, she breaks the archetype of women. Women are depicted as in Daisy's case, you have a dominating husband, submissive, etc. However, Jordan was a successful golfer, she was independent, so she broke that stereotype and that was her role in the story, to give a different view and to challenge the idea of the "beautiful fool" in the book. Well maybe not challenge, but to contrast.
I disagree with your interpretation of Jordan. She represents the "ideal" woman of the modern era, which was rich, beautiful, and successful. You can see this in the way that Nick describes first Jordan as if she was posing for an artist. I feel like you paint her in too much of a positive light; she cheated to win the golf tournament, she lies and is only concerned with herself. Also Daisy is not with Tom because he is dominating and she is submissive, it's because she values class and the comforts of bourgeois life. If anything she is destructive and is able to get away with it because she is a wealthy woman who can hide behind her money. just my thoughts though

A good person or not, to be able to have the wits to cheat and lie still shows she isn't a "fool". But in a sense, almost every rich person was living a false world imo, I think Nick was the only person to see through that. But yes Daisy is with Tom due to the wealth but isn't Daisy still the women every other women wants to be? Look at Myrtle for example, she loved Tom for his money. So I still have the idea of how Daisy is a bit of the ideal women/archetype, but I see what you mean and you do have good points.

The beauty of literature, if you have evidence to back up your claim, then there is not a necessarily "wrong" answer.

#1 How do you keep demo reviews entertaining? in Q/A Help

Hey, this is a somewhat silly question but, how do you not get bored when you go over a demo review? And I'm talking about a solo review, where you're just playing the demo and analyzing yourself. I've been looking over so many POVs to the point where it seems a little boring. Sure I see mistakes and learn but, any fun ideas on how to make it interesting or is it just something you gotta go through?

DunderBroAlso side note, who is jordan baker, was she a friend of daisy? I never got that, in retrospect I probably should have read this book in swedish :(

#24 The great Gatsby in Off Topic

This book is just full of beautiful descriptions and symbolism. A lot of theme surrounding inequality, wealth, betrayal, power, love, etc. I personally loved the idea of "unreality of reality" as Fitzgerald put it. But there's a lot more. In terms of plot, not too special, but in terms of meaning, very, very rich.

Just look into the symbolisms, the specific color used, compare "the valley of ashes" versus the rich, etc. Look at the symbolism of "dreams" and how a few of the character are "beautiful ignorant fools". That's what I personally got the most out of the book. Some people are living a false reality, I would go into detail but I would need to spoil the book and maybe some haven't read it but anyways, in short, I personally enjoyed it.

My favorite book though is Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, and if you want to dig deeper with meanings and symbolism and all that good stuff I'd recommend that book.
