Getting ahead of things here...but oh well....

I'm warming to the idea of doing it on the tf.tv stream. We'll probably be shutting down both VTF2 and VTV after i52 anyway, so kinda silly to have people watch a stream that won't be back.
Now I am rather fond of the VTV assets, the HUD, the scoreboard, overlays, the bird and such, so would love to see that again for the i52 stream, especially as its swan song.

Things were looking quite grim a few weeks ago. Taking stock of what we could bring for i52, both in people and resources, we were quite sure we couldn't put on anything like the i49 show. After reaching out to tf.tv EU to see if they'd might want to run it instead, it turned it out they were in no position to do it either.

The recent preliminary meeting has me in a positive mood though. We're looking good in terms of gear, OK-ish on casters, OK-ish on number of production crew. I mean we're asking 2 Americans to fly over just so we have enough people that know how to computer, that's how desperate EU casting situation seems to be atm.

Also, it would be nice to find people for:

  • Basic photoshopping for the overlay images. Nothing fancy, just changing caster photos and team names. That kind of stuff. Might not even have to be on site to do that. Anything random we might need on stream on short notice.
  • On-screen talent. Bonus points if you know the game, can look in a camera and ask good short questions. (I <3 you byte, but look in the goddamn camera)

  • All: End of the month, time to send some donation money/love to the server providers.
  • EU: 277 euros (ex fees) in total, 185% of the goal, sweeeeeet!
  • EU: Share per server provider here
  • NA: 215 USD (ex fees) in total, 420% of the goal, someone must have had fun with that :)
  • NA: 50% of donations go to tragicservers. All fees (PayPal conversion fee from USD to USD is such BS!) come from my half.
  • Some NA vs EU system stats for June:
    Unique players seen in the last 15 days NA: 9292 EU: 12844. 2423 played in NA+EU.
    Hours played NA: 3883 (277h per server) EU: 12995 (216h per server)
    NA: 584 people together made 3875 reservations EU: 1558 people together made 13837 reservations

  • All: Show ping of currently selected server on reservation form. Your in-game ping will most likely be lower. Not much I can do about it, just a limitation of how browsers can ping.

mr64bitI understand you can't just let everybody use the backend on your server, but is the backend opensource/available for others to run on their own servers?

I was going to write a bunch of excuses why I won't open source TF2 Live Stats, mostly because I don't want the code tied to my name.

Any casters/streamers looking to give this a go should send me a PM here or on Steam. Remember that you'll need rcon access, or at least someone else to run an rcon command for you.

Some events require extra plugins to add the correct events to the logs. TFTrue and F2's plugins both add all the things. SizzlingStats doesn't have headshots and airshots (I think), same goes for Livelogs.

Indeed, no RCON.

AndKennethLivelogs has semi-private sourcecode, you could take a look at that, you just have to contact bladez. From what I've experienced, the developer of tftrue is happy to add features that help out the competitive scene.

Ozzy Livelogs use the same mechanism as my live damage/kills. You'd need some way to set a logsecret and run the logaddress_add command on the server, usually this is done with rcon.

thesupremecommanderFrom a cursory look at the SizzlingStats source code, it does not expose the stats page link at all, and while neither TFTrue or LogsTF have open source code, I expect that neither of them do so either.

logs.tf has a good API that you could use to get stats in JSON format. But logs are only uploaded per round if you're lucky.
