#6 tv_delaymapchange 1 in TF2 General Discussion
TechDudeYou know the thousands of times you've seen the STV drop in the last 90 seconds of a game?

Setting tv_delaymapchange to 1 on the server stops this from happening.

Except it doesn't work. AFAIK it only delays map changes due to timelimit, so it's nice for pubs with mapcycles. It won't delay manual map changes or even hitting timelimit in tournament mode.

Like f_blue says, use F2's plugin or TFTrue for proper 90s delay (that can still be overruled by retarded people with RCON, which is what happened with the cast tonight).

#6 is my isp throttling me in Q/A Help
love-...
Is there some sort of hardware(cables, etc.) i can buy that will solve this for me?

No.

Run WinMTR for a few minutes when the pings are good and run it again when the pings are bad.
You could use the results to complain to your ISP that they need more capacity in some part of their network, but they typically don't care too much.

#12 75hz downgrades resolution? in Hardware
Comangliahttp://www.testufo.com/#test=frameskipping use this if it says "Valid" at the bottom you're good.

"Valid" just means your browser isn't messing up the test. You'd need to follow the instructions and take a picture of the screen so you can check for frame skipping.

#10 75hz downgrades resolution? in Hardware

You'll want to check if your monitor even does 75Hz properly without frame skipping.

#3 any gtx 970 owners? in Hardware

What's the problem? Unless you turn on vsync or limit your FPS, the gfx card is going to generate as much frames per second as it possibly can, which raises the GPU usage percentage.

#70 GXL feedback in LAN Discussion

My Yurrpeon perspective:

The Good:

  • The TEZC boys, most fun I've had at any LAN
  • Flying Premium Economy with Virgin Atlantic, spoiled for life now
  • Location, loved Phoenixville and the stores/restaurants close to the venue
  • People, y'all so friendly!
  • Everyone in the organisation, all so busy and nice. Helping us out however they could
  • Playing with the DSLR video rig
  • The nervous look on Tagg's face whenever he borrowed my camera
  • Lange hugs
  • Meeting eXtine. It's always the people getting the most shit online that are so nice and hard working at these events. (Hi Byte!)
  • Everyone doing stream production and casting. The amount of work these guys put in is insane. And all that effort paid off, the stream looked amazing and very professional. Loved seeing all the backend stuff specifically written for GXL. Awesome what just a few coders and designers managed to make just for this LAN.

The bad:

  • Internet connection. Really well managed/filtered, but just not fast enough. One external IP is pretty risky too. Probably the best you could get at the venue.
Glad I work for an American wireless internet provider and brought a backup ;)
  • CEVO computers. We were told we could use these on Saturday. We fixed 6 broken ones that could no longer be used, only for them to be taken from us a few hours later so the CS:GO 'BYOC' boys could play. The actual computers were really good once we fixed them though.

Forgot a lot of good stuff and people I met
